We made a new website, largely because Rob 🦜's dad went to our old one and said he has zero idea what we do
Thanks to parents for still holding us accountable

As an entrepreneur for now over a year, I feel obligated to start giving unsolicited advice
Today's: ask questions. If you're lost, if you're curious, if you want something, just ask
Learned it from the best
You never know when you’re going to need #MotivationMonday.
I woke up this morning and couldn’t tell you if it was Thursday, spring, raining, or my dog’s birthday. That’s hashtag startup life.
Thankfully, Jordan from The Moth is in our flock to remind us: “September.”
If we just keep knowing what month it is, we’ll be okay.
Everyone talks about making more content. One of the things I keep hearing instead: the content already exists.
It’s in Dropbox, Drive, the DAM, an old campaign folder, someone’s camera roll. Somewhere in there is exactly what you need.
The problem is finding it is such a pain that eventually you stop looking. So you shoot it again. Buy another stock image. Or keep using the same seven assets sitting on your desktop.
What if you could just find it? Ca-caw 🦜
Growth marketers tricked us into thinking we could acquire an audience.
Lol. That’s Meta’s audience.
Your audience is the people who start showing up without being asked.
Did not expect this particular fandom, but I’ll try to give them the right content.
Fellow tech CEOs, can I use tech language in my normal life?
Like if I have an awkward encounter, can I just say “hard reload, clear cache” and try again?
Let me know. Don’t want to embarrass myself at the gala.
I have spent an unbelievable amount of my career discussing whether we could get social icons into an email or website footer.
And when you finally get them in, it feels like a win. Then basically nothing happens.
I wish I had spent that time making better content.
I’m not not saying telling a room full of people at a stand-up show to follow me is a better growth tactic than a footer icon...
Another #MotivationMonday from a member of the flock. This one from @CarloCisco @SelectCard.
Let’s fly.
Brands and creators spend so much time changing the language, tweaking the voice, trying to come up with something better.
Maybe we're overthinking it. Just say the same thing over and over again.
Anyway, get ready to giggle.
When it comes to creative, I only trust organic data.
For paid, sure, make sure you’re making more than you’re spending. You’d be surprised how novel this concept is. But don’t use paid performance to tell you whether the creative is good. You paid to put it in front of people.
If you want to know what people actually respond to, look at organic.
We got way too deep into the Big Data marketing analytics boom. Attribution, dashboards, increasingly fancy metrics that often tell you very little about whether the creative is working.
At 🦜, we’re starting with organic.
Have jokes ready for any companies based in Tampa. Looking at you @Outback.
Could probably just find a warm intro, but trying this first.
#MotivationMonday is becoming my least favorite day of the week. I’m no longer asking the team to write these. I’ve started asking customers.
Thank you Joel from Gathr Outdoors, home to Klymit, WaterPORT, GCI Outdoor, and more. Unclear how we’ll all fit in the canoe, but I’m fired up.
Before we rush to AI agents running everything, why’d we skip the other non-human members of the team with context and training?
Kidding. Just wanted to post my dog for likes.

#ThrowbackThursday to our original prototype.
Yes, we tackled copy first. Our tagline was even: “We talk like your brand. Like a parrot.”
You laugh… but copy is still not solved. People are out here purposefully spelling stuff rong to sound less AI.
Anyways, glad we evolved but still loyal to my roots 🦜
Everyone said working brands into my standup routine was silly. “Just send an email like a normal company.”
Listen to that pop though!
You’re welcome, Trader Joe’s. Can’t buy that kind of brand love on Meta.
#TuesdayTip: Hashtags don't matter anymore. Trends do though.
The algorithms read the content itself now, so you could surface to people already engaging with this trend. Kinda chic, right?
That could also be a much broader audience that wants nothing to do with your brand. But hey, who doesn't like popping a big view number?
Day 20: 2523 views.
Pavel really mailed in #MotivationMonday
Might just call in sick...
