Big news for second chances in Louisiana.
We are proud to announce more than $995,000 in support through BlackRock Future Builders™ to launch Second Chance Pathways, an initiative connecting people l returning home from prison with training and careers in the skilled trades.
BlackRock Future Builders™ is expanding nationwide and into more than a dozen high-demand trades. Through the first round of a nationwide RFP, The BlackRock Foundation is awarding more than $13 million to 15 organizations.
The grants will help more than 5,400 people across 26 states prepare for careers in the skilled trades through access to apprenticeship opportunities, hands-on training and industry-recognized credentials. 1blk.co/4yv7pLO
Second Chance Pathways will begin before release and continue after participants return home, combining career planning and training with employer connections and practical support such as housing, transportation, work equipment and licensing costs.
