It's between us" My view: Rachel Millward’s warning is not about technology alone. It is about power: who owns it, who profits from it, and who gets to decide what kind of future we live in. While a tiny number hoard wealth, intensify climate breakdown and buy influence over politics and media, we are encouraged to blame one another instead of asking why so much is being taken from the many. The answer is not a billionaire’s escape pod, a “post-human” upgrade, or a synthetic substitute for life. It is a fairer world with real community, affordable public spaces, clean air, living soil, secure homes and democracy that cannot be bought. And that power is not imaginary. It is in the connections between us - when we organise, care for one another and refuse to be divided.
