Really appreciate that Forgotten Island does do a bait and switch (twice!) re having a 'Big Bad'. Especially since villainizing beings from indigenous myths & folklore (the Manananggal in this instance) has long been weaponized by colonialism.

The letter above her heart says "Po/Pu" and the first letter is Ka and the last letter looks like Wa. I thought it might be Kapuso because I couldn't read the Wa properly but someone pointed out it just says "Ka-pu-wa" as in Kapwa. As in community. She had no community.

yeah no whenever they said “tayo na”, i realized that “tara na” did not carry the same weight. It’s not formal at all. Rather, it feels deeply personal. They made the right choice.
