If we want more users—not just traders—we need to look at global processes and ask, What can we decentralize? Chain abstraction could open doors to new use cases, but we’re still staying in the safe zone. And no one wants to take it on. @AbstractSummit #Devcon2024 Before chain abstraction, there was one main abstraction: fiat connectivity. We decided the problem was with the technology and created hundreds of new blockchains. The use cases, though, have stayed more or less the same. Of course, some new things have emerged, but in the big picture, as long as blockchain is primarily about money, its use cases are essentially financial.
Wake me up in a year and ask what they’re discussing at the Web3 conference. I’ll say, ‘How to make crypto easier and finally attract users.’ Oh, they are also launching debit cards. #Devcon2024
