Hard for me to defend the Rangers but Matt, the Devils could win 15 cups in a row and they’d still be a little brother team in the tri-state.

J.T. Miller on the #NYR style of play:
“We’re just making, I feel like the play that’s in front of us. We have a grind game mindset first — we have a direct-ness in our game first. That’s the primary focus. Our first look isn’t to get 3-on-2’s and trade chances. Right now I think we’re doing a good job of making teams break, crack. It’s a relentless pursuit from us. We forecheck well, we defend well. Other teams are going to cheat at some point, you don’t want to be the first one to crack, you want them to, and most nights we’re getting our 2-on-1’s, our 3-on-2’s from playing 200-foot hockey. It’s just a full commitment to that, and sometimes it’s boring, but we’re okay with that. If you’re playing Nikita Kucherov and Brayden Point and it’s 2-1, let’s not get bored with that — and we showed it again today with the 3rd period we had. So, it’s fun to be a part of it right now.”

It’s pointing out that as a passer, Allen is not as elite as some of his peers. U take away the run from him (not easy to do!) and he becomes mortal real quick.
