Within a few years we’ll have the Star Trek food replicator which will have every distinct food molecule and allow you to AI generate any recipe you can imagine
After six years in stealth, Atomic Machines is out. Our mission: on-demand, universal command of matter. First beachhead: the Matter Compiler, an AI-native manufacturing system that builds working micro-machines from code alone. No per-product tooling. No process development. Different code, different machine.

Every blockchain that shuts down is bullish ETH/SOL. Every L1/L2 that raises 9-figures and goes to zero is bullish ETH/SOL Block space means nothing without liquidity. Anyone can spin up new block space, you cannot just spin up liquidity Security is a requirement for deep liquidity. People frequently underestimate this as a requirement for deep liquidity until we see real examples, like Ronin L1 being hacked for $620M before migrating to become an ETH L2 to inherit Ethereum’s network security. Every appchain that uses Ethereum for settlement has to pay for that settlement in ETH Network effects in crypto are where liquidity is deepest, least subsidized, with the longest timeframes, and where security is the strongest, most decentralized, with the longest track record without disruption. If you want to identify the top networks, check stablecoin TVL and specifically where stablecoin TVL is not subsidized in any way

I applied to my alma mater UC Berkeley as Hispanic instead of White. Hispanic is not a race and literal meaning is “a person connected to the Spanish language or a country with Spanish heritage”. My grandmother is 100% Spanish, we have documented lineage of Spaniards in California and New Mexico dating back to the early missions, before the west coast was part of the United States. My mother’s side is about as “Hispanic” as it gets based on the definition But do you think the UC Berkeley admissions office expects a blue eyed white guy who doesn’t speak any Spanish with zero blood native to the Americas when they joyously accept the “Hispanic” application and carve their chicken scratch on the DEI wall? Probably not haha
People can do enormous damage to progressive constructs by abusing the way they all function on the honor code Anyone can claim to be black on a job application. Anyone can claim to be a woman. Anyone can allege that any sex they had (or even didn’t have) was rape Millenials largely did not do this because it felt dirty and required a large degree of shamelessness, but zoomer and gen alpha guys seem to openly resent the system enough that I think we’ll see stuff like this a lot more as a form of open mockery

After seeing the omega-3 truther posts come out I spent an hour reading this study today. Here’s summary: They gave mice fish oil every 3 days, equivalent to about ~15-20G dose in humans. They gave these mice mild traumatic brain injuries and continued giving fish oil for 6 months after. Also had control groups with: 1) no fish oil + tbi, 2) fish oil no tbi, 3) no fish oil no tbi First important conclusion of the study was that DHA (omega-3) did serve an important role in repair for all groups as a structural component of neuronal membranes, especially at synapses. DHA is also the precursor to neuroprotectin D1 and D-series resolvins which are mediators tied to acute post-injury benefits The negative findings were exclusive to EPA (omega-3) They were not looking for rancid oil in these supplements but do note that they didn’t find significant increases of toxic byproducts, like twitter might suspect. They found insignificant increases in the toxic aldehyde 4-HNE, which is actually a byproduct of omega-6 peroxidation, not omega-3s. They did not report any increase of 4-HHE which is the primarily toxic aldehyde produced from omega-3 peroxidation They found EPA accumulates as a reservoir in the brain and is preferentially and rapidly used for fuel after a traumatic brain injury (TBI) by the endothelium. In the injured mice it continued be used for fuel for long after the injury. Directly after a TBI, the brain enters a metabolic crisis where it rapidly consumes glucose. Neurons are poor fatty acid oxidizers, but the endothelium (what this study found having maladaptive issues from EPA) can burn fatty acids. So it appears the endothelium uses up the EPA while glucose is mostly consumed by neurons Basically what they found in the maladaptive mice was a change in gene expression in the endothelium: Structural matrix and vessel-stability genes went down (agrin, collagen IV, claudin-5, Pecam1, Cxcl12) and fibrotic matrix genes went up (Tgfb2, collagen VIII). Fatty-acid handling genes went up (PPARα, Fabp3, Cpt2, Acaa2) The brain endothelium shifted gene expression into fatty acid consumption, shifting away from glycolysis which is needed for repair. Sprouting new endothelial vessels depends on PFKFB3-driven glycolysis So basically the issue is the endothelium shifted over to fatty acid burning as an emergency energy fuel source during the TBI metabolic crisis, and because it remained saturated in EPA, got stuck in that gene expression and never switched back to a glycolytic, angiogenic state needed for repair Very interesting study with implications for how EPA operates in the brain post-TBI and gene expression, but there’s many conclusions this study does not support: >Omega-3 fats being bad for the brain: DHA still important to post-tbi repair and neuronal function and protection. This is the finding of many other animal and human studies >Having an EPA reservoir being a bad thing when experiencing a TBI: it provides an alternative fuel for the endothelium during the metabolic crisis. EPA can compete with arachidonic acid and feed E-series resolvins, which can also buffer inflammation during the acute phase of TBI recovery >That all doses and amounts of omega-3s prevents a glycolytic state for healing. The standard diet mice were not 100% devoid of all omega-3, just not taking saturating bolus doses. The issue seemed to be when enough EPA was given where the endothelium could continue using it for fuel long after the TBI metabolic crisis Personally I don’t take omega-3 supplements. I get my omega-3 primarily from grass fed, grass finished beef which can have a 2:1 to 3:1 omega-3:omega-6 ratio instead of the corn fed beef 15:1 to 20+:1 ratio. I also get it from fresh salmon. I wonder if these people on X think grass fed grass finished beef is toxic for the brain, or if they even have the capacity of thinking that far into their claims

You know there’s an even shorter, more direct path into the brain and it’s even designed specifically to get light into the brain. It’s called the eyes and optic nerve Also 810nm near-infrared and other wavelengths of red light can penetrate the skull and directly reach brain tissue There’s also skull between the nasal cavity and the brain so the nasal cavity doesn’t bypass the skull barrier. Any red light that wouldn’t penetrate the top of the skull also won’t penetrate the bottom Still an interesting experiment but mainly as red light stimulation of the olfactory nerve/bulb, not as a more direct pathway to brain tissue
I'm going to be sticking a light up my nose once a day for the next 3 months. It's called intranasal photobiomodulation. Four applicators, 25 minutes a session, and you look completely deranged using it. The premise: the nasal cavity is the shortest route to the underside of the brain, and it's packed with capillaries. So instead of shining light on your skin and hoping, you go in through the nose. What @VielightInc says each wavelength does: → 810nm near-infrared — cognitive function. 10Hz for relaxation, 40Hz for focus → 633nm red LED — systemic wellness and immunity → 655nm red laser — same, different delivery → 470nm blue laser — intranasal microbial sanitisation They have 30+ published and ongoing studies. I haven't read them all yet. But here's what I find odd. Red light therapy on your body? Everyone's on it. Sunlight, circadian rhythm, methylene blue, all heavily covered on X. Intranasal? Almost nothing. Either it doesn't work, or it works and nobody's looked. I don't know which yet. So I'll do what I always do. One variable, three months, and I don't judge it before then. I'll report back either way, including if it does nothing. CC @MetalsBrah

I wonder if he’s heard of Binance or BNB
Kevin O’Leary says one major exchange could send a blockchain’s token through the roof. “If you told me an exchange adopted one of these chains, I’d be all over that.” “The value of those tokens will go through the roof.” “That is going to be the platform by which tokenization is supported on that exchange.” “That’s the next big thing.” “Which chain is gonna get it?” “Everybody’s trying to figure this out.”

I for one welcome a good knife fight in the trenches. Wouldn’t be called the trenches if it wasn’t war sometimes If you get $20M volume through a bunch of vamps, bundled KOL vamps and fake github vamps, you should take it as a compliment and double down
