It’s not until recently that I have truly realized that being a slow reader isn’t a problem. I always thought it put me behind, but really, I just take my time and savor every word, and that’s okay.

when I was in the first grade we had a half-hour every day where everything stopped and the class spent half an hour silently reading a book of our own choosing and I feel we should go back to that.
