Not saying the movie is perfect and 10/10 since I personally haven't seen it but is soo easy to spot fake unauthentic sentimental reviews lol
#Clayface is uninspired and unoriginal. Outside of a great nightclub sequence, it’s neither a good horror movie (body horror is ruined by bad VFX) nor a good comic book movie (Gotham has no personality). Tom Rhys Harries is great, but that’s about it. Even Clayface looks bad. 😭
DCU fans don't we really hate the snyderverse like they say since most of us where supporting when it was still active we just hate the snydercultist and most of the hate you see towards the snyderverse is geared indirectly towards them
If this is the only critisms you have for a low budget self contained villain origin "no batman" then we might be in for peak guys 🤲
CLAYFACE apparently forgot one pretty important piece of DC lore:
Batman.
This is a Batman villain movie set in Gotham, and according to someone who saw the movie early, there’s no Batman reference, no Bruce Wayne reference, no Bat-Signal.
Nothing.
The director says you can “feel the shadow of Batman” over the movie.
Whatever the fuck that means.
We are four years into James Gunn’s DCU and the most Batman we’ve gotten is a few seconds of silhouette in CREATURE COMMANDOS.
What is going on over there?
I used to say Gunn was afraid of Superman.
Now I’m starting to think DC Studios is afraid of Batman.
Maybe they’re terrified of stepping on Matt Reeves. Maybe they don’t know how to introduce the DCU Batman without confusing audiences. Maybe they’re just overthinking the hell out of this.
But DC is the house Batman built.
You’re making a movie about one of his villains, in Gotham City, and somehow the Caped Crusader doesn’t even warrant a mention?
That’s insane to me.
I like the DCU. I want it to work.
But the longer this goes on, the more these “missed opportunities” start feeling less accidental.
Hell, even JOKER has Bruce Wayne.
I've never hated him tbh his character hasn't done anything to warrant any type of hate
Frank Grillo learns Rick Flag Sr is the most hated DCU character online 😭
"Peacemaker killed my son.. He murdered my son, my child"
(@movieweb)
Is all making sense now no wonder you started a hate campaign against lanterns cause is centered around a black man you ignorant racist fuck!!!
You DCU fans are proving my point. You are searching my account and trying to paint a narrative to cancel me because I don’t like the DCU. Why don’t you show the posts where I don’t support Trump anymore. I DO NOT support Trump anymore! I was fooled, and I can admit I was COMPLETELY wrong. Trump is a fraud and a pedo protector. But I figure you DCU fans should like him for that considering how you love James Gunn and defend his pedophile tweets!
Bro tryna push vini away indirectly lmao
Since when does an actor need insane knowledge about a character to play them? he's not preping for a comic book quiz he's an actor his job is to act and play the character most of these actors playing heroes know more about the character AFTER they've been cast not before
Truly depends on the actual performance 😭
I have faith in the DCU’s casting director. DC Studios greatest strength is that they do auditions for nearly every role. So I want to believe that the person they cast will be the person who gave the best performance. Batman has a long history of actors who aren’t initially beloved and then prove themselves when the movie releases. There’s no doubt the same will happen here.
My issue with Brandon Sklenar, aside from me just not thinking he really looks like Bruce Wayne, is frankly his attitude and the uninspired things he’s said about the character (“I want to play him as dark as possible”) compared to David Corenswet who said so many beautiful nuanced things about Superman years before he even got the role. Or even Henry Cavil in the past! Brandon is just not a particularly charming guy. Every time he talks about Batman he just says a whole lot of nothing that convinces me that he truly doesn’t understand the character beyond a surface level aura despite him claiming to love the comics. He’s just extremely weak sauce.
“Bruce Wayne as he in the comics”
How is he in the comics?? Brandon’s been given multiple opportunities to explain his attachment to the character and he never does because he doesn’t really have one. I’m being so serious when I say that I could probably get a much more thought provoking analysis of Batman from a second grader over Brandon Sklenar. I’m so serious.
Could Brandon play a good Batman? Sure. He’s a good actor.
Is he someone I’d actually be interested in seeing? At the moment, no. Not really.
Only egotistic cowards messup and don't want to simply just own it up even Mandevil realised he got a bit carried away and rendered an apology for which he has my full respect for. You on the other hand just ruined your DC rep and respect the fandom had for you which is sad
Replying to @harleking55
i haven’t done anything wrong and i’m also not a victim of anything yall just love to yap yap yap when people don’t have the same blind delusional loyalty or hate for a franchise. god forbid someone is actually honest on here
This dude lied about seeing clayface and I highly doubt he has seen street fighter too
Street Fighter is an expensive cosplay production masquerading as a blockbuster. Weightless action, shallow characters, and zero cinematic vision. Nostalgia can only carry a movie so far. What a misfire.
Not quite as bad as #Clayface but not very good at all.

You're not the only dc fan who didn't lime the lanterns finale but the difference between you and sane DC fans is even if they don't like one episode of a highly successful show they don't start engaging and calling for a reboot like a grifter👍
