11/1/26 Honoring lives, celebrating culture, and sharing hope and light!
Paddle for the Cure NYC joined this Día de los Muertos celebration to honor loved ones we’ve lost—including those taken by breast cancer—and connect with our diverse community. Remembering those who came before us strengthens our purpose to support those still here.
Thank you, Las Doñas , for welcoming us! Special thanks to our lovely paddlers and volunteers, Gladys Varela, Carolina Jaramillo and Victoria, for showing up and sharing our mission with heart.
Together, we keep memories alive and spread the light of hope.

CONGRATULATIONS, CAROLINA!
Making waves on and off the water!
We are proud to celebrate our very own PFC paddler and dedicated volunteer, Carolina Jaramillo , on her new role as Executive Director of Brand Development at LATINOS LIKE TV MAGAZINE!
Together with her daughter Victoria, our young PFC paddler and volunteer, they have generously shared their time, energy, and hearts in supporting our mission and spreading hope to cancer survivors.
This is more than volunteerism. It’s a legacy of compassion, leadership, and service passed from one generation to the next!
Carolina, your success is our celebration! Keep shining, breaking barriers, and making waves. Your PFC family is cheering you on!
Small but mighty. Together, we create waves of hope!

MOTIVATION MONDAY
Just as a few dirty drops cannot define the ocean, a few failures cannot define your journey. Keep your faith in humanity—goodness and kindness still surround us.
Never let “I can’t” or “I don’t know” stop you. Say, “I’m willing to learn, and I’ll find a way.”
Challenge yourself. Be willing to change. Turn your setbacks into lessons that move you toward success.
You are here for a purpose. Share your goodness. Choose kindness. Keep moving and passing your light!

The earlier breast cancer is diagnosis , the better the chance of successful treatment. So it's important to check your breasts regularly and see your GP if you notice a change.
Common breast cancer signs and symptoms include:
• a lump or swelling in the breast, upper chest or armpit – you might feel the lump but not see it
• a change to the skin, such as puckering or dimpling
• a change in the colour of the breast – the breast may look red or inflamed
• a change to the nipple, for example it has become pulled in (inverted) rash or crusting around the nipple
• any unusual liquid (discharge) from either nipple
changes in size or shape of the breast
Check the whole breast area, including your upper chest and armpits.
Do this regularly to check for changes.
It’s as simple as TLC: Touch, Look, and Check
This BCAM, Leah reflects on Dr. Don McKenzie’s research and her own paddling journey. She rebuilt PFC with $25. Imagine how far funding could take us. Research matters. Wellness deserves investment, too.
