This is ridiculous on multiple levels, as people have pointed out. But one level is that police do not “contest” ICE. That is not a thing. It will never be a thing. It’s a persistent liberal fantasy that both signals someone has terrible analysis & diverts effort from real paths.
Hasan Piker on Mayor Zohran Mamdani and how Mamdani can leverage his popularity and outside forces like the DSA to potentially encourage Jessica Tisch to condemn the presence of ICE in New York City:
"If Zohran Mamdani is a competent administrator, if he's a competent executive, he utilizes the unbelievable amounts of pressure coming from the outside to carve out a specific deal with Jessica Tisch, if he's not going to drop, which he probably isn't.
If he was smart, he would use the outside forces, including the DSA, to his advantage to say, 'Look, I'm getting a lot of pressure. Your popularity is waning so you have to at least play ball with me here. You have to contest ICE activity. You can't actually defend ICE.'”

Today marks three years since the terror attacks by Hamas against the people of Israel that killed over 1200, injured thousands and led to hundreds being taken hostage. We remember the innocent victims whose lives were taken, the families who endured unimaginable suffering, and offer our condolences to the survivors.
Since that time we have seen a significant rise in antisemitism around the world and sadly here at Manitoba. As a government we are committed to standing with the Jewish community in Manitoba and commit to fighting this type of hatred wherever it rears its head. We must defend the human rights of all peoples everywhere and our Government has taken strong action over our time in office, supporting law enforcement, education, and community infrastructure while strongly condemning acts of hate.
We must also recognize the terrible devastation and suffering of Palestinians over the past three years in Gaza and the West Bank. Our Government has called for peace and security for all Israelis and Palestinians during that time and we will recommit to support those efforts today.
