The massive amount of collective resource being wasted on dealing with bad legislation because of the failure of ministers in all parts of the UK to do their job is getting beyond depressing. This is not a time or place where we have such resources to waste.

@BBCWomansHour response to my complaint about their decision to to use @womenslibrary as the host for the 80th anniversary programme. Apparently there wasn't time to cover @ForWomenScot Supreme Court ruling 🤔 And Woman's Hour finds discussion about women’s rights 'polarised'. 🤦♀️

The bill invents a completely new thing called a "transgender identity".
It doesn't define what a "transgender identity" is, and there's no scientific evidence that it exists.
It says you can "have" a "transgender identity".
Or you can "believe" you have a "transgender identity".
The difference is not explained, but it's a crime to try to change either.
Bridget Phillipson's assurance that 'refusing to accept a child's identity' will not be prosecutable under conversion practices legislation is contradicted by the bill itself, which says that 'psychological or emotional pressure' with the intention of changing 'transgender identity' could qualify as a criminal offence.
How can Phillipson know how a court will interpret 'refusing to accept a child's identity' given the vague and open-ended definitions in the bill?
An op-ed by a politician will be scant consolation when a parent is facing a criminal claim or a protection order that will destroy their relationship with their child.
And the question remains: what 'abuse' is the bill designed to tackle that is not already an offence in law?

Joy! Now @SeanCMBell, who boasts of bylines in @bellacaledonia & @ScotNational joins in the @NASUWT pile-on.
No we are "wildly hostile" to a failure to support women in the workplace. That's not being hostile to Unions, it's objecting to a failure to fulfil their obligations.
At least deal with what we actually say rather than invent malign intent.

It is almost as if there are differences between men and women even after a woman takes testosterone. A team of transmen lost 19-0 in a lower league match while the Flying Bats fielding at least 5 males in a women’s team dominated their league 🤔

'Let’s take the three subjects Ms Gilruth mentioned in turn: firstly, “a Scotland in which women are silenced”. The deputy first minister provided no examples, but let me. Twice, I went to attempts by a group of women to screen a documentary about women’s rights, Adult Human Female. The first time, it couldn’t go ahead because of a large group of protesters and the second time, it went ahead but only thanks to heavy security. I spoke to both sides and the women trying to screen the film couldn’t have been less right-wing if they’d tried, and the protesters who were trying to silence them were absolutely of the Left, not the Right.' heraldscotland.com/politics/…

Indeed, the @ScotGovFM is FAR TOO BUSY saying he cares about women to meet the women who forced him to remove male murders from women's prisons where they were locked up with some of the most vulnerable women in Scotland.

Watching @4corners on pregnancy discrimination and the Sex Discrimination Commissioner is using gender neutral terms to describe “caregivers” and “people” rather than mothers. How can we fix issues like sex discrimination we can’t even adequately describe it? These “experts” who use gender neutral language are a big part of the problem.

Parkrun censored the word “Fairness” on this shirt.
Fairness is one of parkrun’s 5 core values - the description of it here👇is the exact polar opposite of the censor’s shameful behaviour.
Parkrun have escaped with an apology this time. Next time they might end up in court.
The @parkrunUK censorship was spotted by a SEEN in Sport member at the event, whose top saying “Fairness in Women’s Sports” was also scribbled out by the official photographer
Good that @parkrun have apologised to @RRRunnersUK and reinstated all the censored photos

Good governments don't do this.
Nor do ones that really care about what they say they care about. People who throw this word without being able to define it aren't serious about making anyone's life better, beyond a charmed circle round power, it's just gesture politics.
"Gender" is not defined in law, nor is the @scotgov able to explain what it means.
They do have a minister for it though! Maybe they should have one for faeries and sprites as well?

As @LetAlbaFlourish has pointed out, the same @scotgov which is, apparently, worried about male violence & abusive sexual practices like strangulation, gives millions to Equality Network.
HELLO @JohnSwinney!
Absolutely shocking from a @scotgov funded charity which hosted a stall selling “funky-looking torture devices”:
“A supposedly family-friendly event at the local town hall is not the place to be selling sexual fetish gear and dangerous items such as slip chains designed to be worn around someone’s neck."

51 people ?! The Government is hanging the Conversion Practices Bill on say so of 51 people and we thought it was 100s. 51 people who think something that happened was a conversion practice, if the Government can be wrong about the numbers they can be wrong about that.
The Galop report analysed cases from frontline services. The “hundreds” were actually just 51 people who specifically sought help for alleged conversion practices.
Surely the #ConversionPracticesDraftBill should be based on truth, not hyperbole.

They want to cut up little girls’ vaginas and then sew them almost shut because that way men can tell if their brides are virgins. The fact that it means unimaginable suffering for the victims and a far greater risk of death in childbirth is unimportant to these people. The West could help put a stop this barbaric practice by making foreign aid contingent upon the Somali government’s making FGM illegal and actively working to stop it. It would cost us absolutely nothing, and it would do so much to help Somali girls, but we won’t do it because no one actually cares about these girls. If 99% of Somali boys were having their penises chopped off, you can bet that the world would do more than just shrug it off.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is an MP in Somalia THIS WEEK defending the mutilation of little girls because it benefits men.
I am running out of words for the sheer inhumanity of these men. And the female politician laughing behind him should be ashamed. But that would require a conscience.
Around 99% of Somali women and girls have undergone #FGM, yet politicians openly defend this horrific abuse.
And what do we do? Keep pouring billions into Somalia while pretending it is building a functioning state.
Why are British taxpayers funding institutions whose politicians show such contempt for little girls?
Not another penny without accountability. I am sick of this madness.

Scottish women fought to get sex into the Hate Crime Bill & failed because of @ScotGov gender ideology (cross dressers got covered though!). @Scotgov then tried to push through a Misogyny bill that would include males in the definition of women (yes, really). That failed 1/

Cathy Larkman, a director at Women's Rights Network, said:
‘WRN members who work in the NHS tell us that militant activist staff have been doing their best to ignore the law for the last 18 months, so we suspect they will continue to try to override this guidance.
‘It’s vital that the NHS shows strong leadership and robust management to stop this – we will be watching their actions closely.’
