What people say and what people do are different things, instead we have to focus on behaviours.
I get SO many questions about where to do a masters degree in UX… Don’t! Get a job! Good UX designers are not made in school, they are made out in the world, by doing real UX work. No education + a good portfolio is better than a masters degree and no real experience.

Users come to a system with goals they want to achieve. Designers should understand those goals. Realize that users’ goals may vary, and that their goals strongly influence what they perceive.
Engineering does not replace art in a design, it makes it possible.
People can be reluctant to agree in a group setting if it’s clear the executive in charge has a different idea.
For each thing we create, there is an alternate, often opposing, way of solving the same problem.
