In a bid to strengthen communication across the 39 Dioceses of Church of Uganda, the PaxTel team, led by Hamilton Telecom Group CEO Mr Otaremwa Otuhumurize @ota1978, today met with the Provincial Secretariat’s management team, led by the Provincial Secretary, Rev Canon William Ongeng, and the Provincial Treasurer, Mr Balaam Muheebwa in Namirembe, to review progress in the Church of Uganda–PaxTel partnership.
@Paxtel_mobile is developing a Church Management System to enhance communication, facilitate digital giving, strengthen accountability and support effective governance.
The system will also enable @ChurchofUganda_ to collect and maintain reliable data on its Christian population, schools, health facilities, land and other assets, providing a stronger foundation for planning and decision-making.
His Grace @Archbp_COU’s charge to us is clear: we cannot use old tools to address new challenges. Embracing these digital solutions is a practical step towards building a digitally empowered Church, better equipped to serve its people and advance its mission in an ever evolving global technology landscape.

Ladies and gentlemen, someone once said that the best network would come in the future. Well, the future has arrived!
Last month, August, I was in Kihembe, Kanungu District, deep at the border with the DRC. From there, I travelled to Karamoja and later to Kasese. Throughout these journeys, I relied on PaxTel because I needed super-fast and reliable internet. To my pleasant surprise, the experience was exceptional: fast, stable and with 5G connectivity everywhere I went.
I remember His Grace @Archbp_COU while in Karamoja being equally surprised by the speed of the internet. He could hardly believe we were enjoying such fast connectivity that far from Kampala!
Well, well, well… we give thanks to God for using Mr @jmkamya, @ota1978 and the @hamiltel1 Board to bring PaxTel and for the partnership that has seen it become @ChurchofUganda_’s official communication partner.
Archbishop Kaziimba has always reminded us that old tools cannot counteract new challenges. That is why @Paxtel_mobile is proving to be a game changer for the Church, supporting the Church Management System, creating a unified communication channel, expanding access to PaxSente, creating employment opportunities especially for young people, and advancing our wider digital transformation agenda.
Well, this is more than connectivity. It is about using technology to strengthen ministry, communication and ministry to God’s people.
We are stronger together!

En route to Kanungu this morning, I stopped by the PaxTel Masaka Service Centre along Edward Avenue, opposite Equity Bank, to get myself an eSIM.
I was impressed by the team, led by Frank Mukasa. They are truly customer-centred, professional, responsive and committed to excellent service delivery Kabisa!
Frank and his team were preparing to travel to Rwebitakuri Parish in Sembabule District, West Buganda Diocese, as part of the ongoing rollout. Their goal is to cover the entire Diocese within the shortest time possible and bring our Christians onto a unified communication channel.
The journey to digitise the @ChurchofUganda_ through our partnership with @Paxtel_mobile is steadily taking shape. Special appreciation to Mr @jmkamya and the entire @hamiltel1 team for their commitment to this digital transformation agenda.
The rollout in Ntungamo, South Ankole Diocese, was a great success, and the progress is encouraging as we work towards extending PaxTel services across the Church of Uganda and beyond.
If you are in Kampala, visit the PaxTel Service Centre in Wandegeya, at the traffic lights next to MM Pharmacy, for SIM registration, eSIM services and other support.
The digital transformation journey is on!

As part of our efforts to digitize ministry in @ChurchofUganda_, with support from PaxTel, today we successfully conducted an onboarding exercise for the Diocesan Staff of South Ankole Diocese in Ntungamo.
I sincerely appreciate Bishop Nathan Ahimbisibwe for embracing this digital transformation journey.
The PaxTel team has pitched camp at the Diocesan Secretariat in Kyamate to onboard diocesan staff and clergy across the Diocese, and will later extend the exercise to parishes to onboard Christians over the coming days.
We have also installed PaxTel Internet services to enhance connectivity and communication within the Diocese.
The partnership between @ChurchofUganda_ and @Paxtel_mobile serves multiple community and church development goals:
1. Creating unified channels for better information flow, community engagement, and digital access across the entire Church structure.
2. Providing financial services through PaxSente.
3. Collaborating on initiatives that will create employment and entrepreneurial opportunities for young people.
4. Strengthening support for the Church’s healthcare, education, and social outreach programmes.
Very soon, we will roll out a Church Management System to enhance administration, accountability, and communication across the Church, thanks to the visionary leadership of His Grace @Archbp_COU.

I would like to share a personal reflection on the ongoing conversations around citizenship, identity, and public service in Uganda. I was born and raised in Uganda. It is the country that shaped me, educated me, gave me opportunities, and allowed me to serve to the best of my ability. When my Ugandan passport was revoked years ago, it was one of the most difficult experiences of my life. It felt deeply personal and, at the time, heartbreaking. I was asked to choose between aspects of my identity that, to me, had never been in conflict. After much reflection, I decided that what mattered most was my ability to continue living, working, and contributing to the country I call home. I subsequently obtained a Rwandan passport and a work permit. While the process brought inconvenience and frustration, it never stopped me from continuing to work, build, contribute, and serve alongside fellow Ugandans. Though I am of Rwandan heritage, I have always considered myself Ugandan in every meaningful sense of the word, having lived here my entire life. That experience taught me an important lesson: service to one’s country is not measured solely by the passport one carries, but by the contribution one makes, the values one upholds, and the commitment one demonstrates to the people around them. As we debate recent appointments and questions of citizenship, I believe our focus should remain on competence, integrity, service, and the value individuals can bring to Uganda. Institutions responsible for appointments should be allowed to perform their duties, while the rest of us assess leaders by the impact they make.
Uganda’s story has always been one of diverse communities, cultures, and histories living alongside one another. Our identities are often more interconnected than we sometimes acknowledge. That diversity should be a source of strength rather than division. I also wish to say this respectfully: those who seek to inflame tensions or claim to speak for all Banyarwanda do not speak for me. I have never denied my heritage, nor have I ever stopped loving Uganda. The loss of a passport did not diminish my affection for this country or my desire to contribute to its future. We are a peaceful people. We are neighbours, colleagues, friends, and family members. The conversations we have today will shape the country our children inherit tomorrow. Let us therefore choose wisdom over anger, unity over division, and dialogue over suspicion. I love Uganda, and I remain grateful for all it has given me. I also remember a time when many people of Rwandan heritage living in Uganda felt unable to openly acknowledge that part of who they were. We have made significant progress since then. Let us not move backwards. Let us continue building a society where people are judged by their character, contribution, and commitment to the common good.
Peace, respect, and togetherness must always come first #peace #respect #love #understanding

A fiery speech by South Africa's🇿🇦 EFF leader Julius Malema, over xenophobic attacks targeting foreign nationals.
“You say Zimbabweans take your jobs. Nigerians take your jobs.
You march, close shops and beat up people. Tell us after doing that how many jobs have you created, by beating up these Nigerians, Zimbabweans and Ghanaians?
You beat people because they took your jobs.
You close a shop that hires people. How many have you created after beating and chasing them?
Unskilled men, with no skills, none whatsoever, say somebody took away their jobs. I don't want your votes if you behave like that. Take them away.
Pushing out of school an African child that looks like you, I will never do that. You can take your votes. Make me die with my conscience very clearly.
I will never refuse a pregnant woman of African descent to give birth in the clinics of South Africa. Never!”

"Chairman, a country without reserves is not sovereign. The potential of this Bill to destabilize Uganda’s balance of payments is our primary concern as a central bank. For example, last financial year the overall balance of payment surplus was USD 1.5 billion. That’s how we were able to increase our reserve coverage by USD 1.5 billion. Today as we speak our reserves are close to USD 6 billion. Why? Because these inflows have been coming in. The moment you tamper with these inflows here, we risk running down our reserves, and that is economic disaster for a country.” Governor Atingi-Ego on the Protection of Sovereignty Bill 2026 in an appearance before Parliament today.

His Grace the Archbishop spoke homily from the Bible juxtaposing Nathan and John the Baptist and their mode of managing reproach. Dr. Kazimba Mugalu is speaking to people who have a great knowledge of the Bible. The people responding are atheists and many who do not even know the two men of God he juxtaposed.
It is reckless placing oneself in harms way for no good.
