ALT Hello everyone! My name is Sy Sosa Medina (she/they), and I am honored to be the OSSCAMS Media Manager for this 2026-2027 academic year! I was born and raised in NYC, though I have worked in Oregon. It was while working in the mountains there I fell in love with the sky, and ended up completing my Associate’s in Earth and Planetary Sciences before pursuing a Bachelor’s in Meteorology and minoring in Mathematics. This year will be especially busy, as I will be serving as one of LESPaRC’s Co-Directors for this season and preparing for several conferences presenting summer research! Rest, however, is very important. When not working, you’re likely to find me hidden away enjoying a cup of coffee, playing video games (Minecraft or Peak, anyone?), or watching a storm pass by amongst soft moss and rains. I am looking forward to meeting new members, reuniting with old peeps, and starting off the Fall 2026 semester! See y’all around– Happy trails! 🍃🌪️☕

ALT Photo introduction of David Pearson (Posing at the peak of a mountain), the 2026-2027 OSSCAMS Treasurer! David (He/him) is a junior meteorology major from Oswego, NY. His favorite weather is Lake-Effect Snow, with interests including birdwatching, writing, and exercising.

ALT "Hello! My name is David Pearson (He/ him), and I am honored to serve as the OSSCAMS Treasurer this academic year! I am a Meteorology Major with Math Minor from Oswego, NY. I became interested in meteorology after experiencing a microburst when I was 8, and by living in a town that gets Lake Effect snow. I am hoping to go to graduate school after Oswego and enter the forecasting side of the field. When I’m not doing meteorology, I mostly like to write, birdwatch, and exercise. I am mostly looking forward to being around my classmates again so we can talk weather, and hopefully doing some more research!"

ALT Photo introduction of Lex Fodrowski (Posing in front of a scientific research poster), the 2026-2027 OSSCAMS Secretary! Lex (she/her) is a junior meteorology major from Middle Island, NY. Her favorite weather is Thunderstorms, with interests including working out, being outside, softball, and all kinds of music!

ALT "Hello everyone! My name is Alexa Fodrowski (She/her) but you can call me Lex, and I am honored to serve as our OSSCAMS Secretary for the 2026-2027 academic year. I am a junior Meteorology Major with a minor in Math. I am from Middle Island, NY. I love listening to all music and learning about new things all the time. I grew up around sports and playing softball almost my whole life. I currently am a Team Developer on Club Softball. I recently have completed my summer internship at Brookhaven National Lab (SULI). I am excited to continue my research and go on to get my masters degree in Atmospheric Science. My favorite part about going to Oswego was finally being able to find myself and find people who are like me!!!"

ALT Photo introduction of George Gutierrez (Posing in a boat), the 2026-2027 OSSCAMS Vice-President! George (He/him) is a junior meteorology major from Rocky Point, Long Island, NY. His favorite weather is Supercell Thunderstorms, with interests including building LEGOs, storm-chasing, photography, and working out.

ALT "Hello! I'm George, the vice president of the meteorology club! I am a Jr. Meteorology major. I’ve been interested in meteorology since I was a little kid after watching Twister, and that fascination has never gone away. I’m looking forward to doing new things this year, meeting many new people and continuing to broaden my knowledge of meteorology. While fall is my favorite season, spring brings my favorite weather phenomenon, supercell thunderstorms. The amount of events that can occur within supercells is amazing, and their beauty is like no other. When I’m not in the meteorology lounge, you can find me at the gym working out. I am a geek for Legos and outdoor activities. I also do weather photography, which you can all see on my media page on IG. During the summer, I work as a lifeguard at LI's outdoor waterpark, Splish Splash, where I’ve been working for the past 3 yrs. With my future, I am potentially joining the navy as a meteorologist. I am beyond excited for this year!"

ALT Photo introduction of Kris Convis (Posing in front of Steam Engine 4014), the 2026-2027 OSSCAMS President! Kris (He/him) is a junior meteorology major from Edmeston, NY. His favorite weather is Lake-Effect Snow and Nor'easters, with interests including watching auto racing (NASCAR), collecting vinyl records, and learning about local history.

ALT "Hello! My name is Kris Convis (he/him), and I am honored to serve as your OSSCAMS President for the 2026–2027 academic year. I am a jr. Meteorology major with a minor in History from Edmeston, NY (a small town near Cooperstown, NY). Having lived in the countryside of Upstate New York all my life, I've always enjoyed experiencing all four seasons, especially winter with its lake-effect snow and an occasional nor'easter. I love watching auto racing (NASCAR), collecting vinyl records, attending car shows, four-wheeling, and learning about local history. I am a trained SKYWARN spotter and have also volunteered at my town museum for seven years. On campus, I am involved in the student-run television station, WTOP-10, where I serve as Assistant Chief Meteorologist. My career goal is to earn my B.S degree in Meteorology and become a broadcast meteorologist. I am excited to meet newcomers, reconnect with returning members, and make this an engaging, welcoming, and memorable year for all!"
