India’s younger generation is learning an uncomfortable truth about the Indian judiciary. With Saurav Das & Ashutosh Ranka being jailed, many are beginning to understand why were dissenters like Umar Khalid & Fr. Stan Swamy brutalised. It's an unfortunate mode of awakening.

Dear @Indumakalktchi, 1. The RSS-BJP have never truly stood for Sanatana Dharma (Hindutva). They merely exploit the Hindu religion, grievances, and emotions to gain political power and pelf, while actually working against Hindu religious interests. This mirrors how non-BJP parties misuse secularism to promote their own political interests by working against Hindus. In other words, while the RSS-BJP represent #PseudoHindutva, the Left-Liberals represent #PseudoSecularism—both of which are two sides of the same anti-Hindu coin. I do not know which side of the coin Sri @annamalai_k belongs to, or if he belongs to either. However, unlike me, it took him only a few years to realise that the RSS-BJP are the greatest traitors and Hindu-drohis in all of world history, whereas it took me 40 years to see it. 2. That being said, what Sri Annamalai has said about the CJP protests and their handling by the #PseudoHindutva RSS-BJP-Modi government is correct. The pattern indicates that the CJP isn't fighting the autocratic, anti-people RSS-BJP-Modi Government; it is actively managing youth anger for them as controlled dissent.👇
We all believed that you were a Hindutva idielogost, but you turned other wise. Nobody wanted this stupid explanation, but since you have given it. You will go down in history as the worst HINDUTVA TRAITOR of TN.

In 2011, then Gujarat Chief Minister Thiru @narendramodi avl said that if his hands were not tied, he would have gone to Delhi and waged war against the central government. Thiru Narendra Modi avl made this statement in response to the police crackdown on the peaceful anti-corruption campaign led at Ramlila Maidan, Delhi. In my opinion, what the Hon PM said then was absolutely right, and there is nothing wrong about it. Today, you could be jailed indefinitely; your surety bonds could be rejected; and, surprisingly, a Special Executive Magistrate will play circles around you when he/ she is empowered to deal with preventive bond cases. If you question the violation of due process of law in a democracy, you would be called names, and a barrage of attacks would follow, including being labelled a Foreign Agent. Ever since I asked the Central Government to speak with the protestors during the NEET exam protests, I have faced constant attacks, but I let them pass because I felt it was important to focus on the issues on the ground in Tamil Nadu. I also, in a way, enjoyed this as it would quickly remove the tag of me being a BJP B Team and sent to TN as a Dhurandhar 😍 Yesterday during a press meeting, I questioned the Delhi Police’s methods of detaining protestors of CJP. Since yesterday, the attacks have resumed, as expected. For some in the BJP, let me make this categorically clear, in case you have selective amnesia: I left the BJP on June 5, 2026. As I mentioned yesterday, I might not agree with the tactics of the CJP, and I think many of theirs are misguided. But if you ask me whether they have a right to oppose/argue/protest on an issue that they think is important? I would categorically say - YES. So, I would like people to ask the questions again, even if it makes some of them uncomfortable, and I wish the Central Government would answer them instead of resorting to whataboutism. 1.How was Jantar Mantar denotified as a protest site as per a standing order of the Ministry of Home Affairs after a letter was handed over by CJP seeking permission to conduct a protest? 2.How long can we have a system that gives powers to an Asst Commissioner of Police as a Special Executive Magistrate who rules over whether to keep someone in preventive detention? The ACP of Delhi Police stands over the trial where Delhi Police is the complainant against the accused CJP. Now you know which way the wind will blow. 3.On October 19th, why did the Special Executive Magistrate, aka ACP of Delhi Police, deliberately arrive late for the bail hearing of those who were arrested from Jantar Mantar on October 13th and recuse himself, saying there is a threat to his life? Is this some kind of a joke? 4.Why were 8 sureties rejected, and why was the person who came for surety subjected to cross-examination by the Special Executive Magistrate? 5. Any action taken on pellet gun usage by the Delhi police or other actions on Delhi police who have violated the standard operating procedures against the protesters during the NEET fiasco stir? Has no BJP karyakarta in Delhi violated any bond conditions during the previous Congress and AAP governments. I trust the same Delhi police were then also when barricades were jumped and orders disobeyed? How were they dealt with then? Like this? Definitely - NO. Now I hear that the detained functionaries of CJP were released by SEM after the case reached the High Court. I also recently saw a cockroach effigy burned as part of the Dusshera celebrations. Out of curiosity, I tried to find out who is giving this free publicity at a National level. No surprises here. It was led by a BJP MLA, Ashok Goel. My question again is: is the BJP opposing the CJP or giving it free publicity? Does it want the opposition votes to split by making CJP a bigger player? At this rate, the CJP couldn’t have asked for a better PR team, even if it had paid for one! (1/2)

Who is Mohan Bhagwat to lecture the nation? Head of an unregistered, amorphous organisation that answers to no law, no accountability, and no Constitution. Yet @RajatSharmaLive presents him as the conscience-keeper of India. This is the same Bhagwat who stays silent when citizens are lynched, silent on SIR irregularities that disenfranchise millions, silent on the systematic othering of minorities, and silent as democratic institutions are hollowed out. Forked tongue. Selective morality. Zero legitimacy.
RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat has warned those who are talking about regime change through public unrest. He said, democracy in India has strong roots; neither did regime change happen in the past nor will it happen in future. Bhagwat said, those who do not agree with the conspiracy for regime change should look at what is happening in France, Italy and Albania. The RSS chief’s message is clear : both the RSS and BJP are on the same page as far as anti-Modi protests are concerned. Bhagwat lashed out at Prashant Bhushan’s ‘regime change’ remark and Neha Bora’s call for a Bangladesh-type revolt. He is quite clear that the agitation against CEC is only a façade and the real aim is to unseat Narendra Modi. Modi's opponents are going to find Mohan Bhagwat's another comment hard to swallow. Bhagwat said, the RSS, through its vast network, contacted nearly 10 crore families across India, organized 'yuva sammelans', and directly contacted more than 3.9 million youths. All anti-Modi political parties, left outfits and so-called civil society people combined do not have the strength to match the RSS even one per cent, as far as direct contact is concerned.

🚨MASSIVE BREAKING : The Hindu Just drop Biggest BOMB on Traitor Gyanesh & dictator Modi🔥 (MUST Read & Share) India's voter list now has an ON/OFF switch. And it sits in Delhi, not in your state. → ECINet is ECI's one portal for everything: voter list, SIR forms, officer logins. → An audit of its code by an IIT Delhi-IIM Calcutta data scientist found a built-in "disable" button for every State Nodal Officer. → The pop-up literally says: "the user will no longer be able to access the application." → Viewing voters' SIR forms can be switched on or off, state by state. → The code even has a ready message: "not enabled for selected State". → And in West Bengal alone, the officers responsible for the voter list are blocked from these forms. And the joke doesn't end there. → How did the audit find all this? Not by hacking. → ECINet's login page loads a big code file before anyone even logs in. → Menu names, screens and API paths meant only for officials are sitting in it, readable by anyone. → The platform guarding almost 100 crore voters' data can't even hide its own officials-only menu. Now the bigger shock. This warning didn't come only from outside. It came from inside ECI. → Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi wrote against the "gradual centralisation of the electoral roll database". → Sandhu wrote that he came to know about new ECINet modules "from media only". → Joshi asked for an outside IIT expert to audit who can change the voter database. → Finally, the two ECs wrote to the Cabinet Secretary. Now connect the dots. By law, the ERO in your area decides whose name stays on the voter list. On ECINet, what the ERO can actually do is decided by the IT team in Delhi. Law says decentralised. Software says one switch. Bro, imagine. Your society has a watchman, but the main gate lock is controlled by someone sitting in another city. He can lock any building he wants, anytime. And when two other committee members ask "who has the key?", nobody answers. That's not digital transformation. That's a remote control on democracy. Gyanesh , if two of your own Commissioners couldn't get answers, how will the voter? Modi, who holds the switch, and whom does he report to? 🔥🔥🔥

. @SauravDassss and @AshutoshRanka of the CJP are in ILLEGAL DETENTION, and every Indian who cares about this democracy should say so out loud. As of this morning, these two young Indians have spent over a week in Tihar for waving the Tricolour at Jantar Mantar, a protest site that was shut a day before they got there. Their custody was extended on Monday. Their plea to the Delhi High Court could not be heard last night because the court was shut for Dussehra. Today they are back before a magistrate. They are not from the Congress, and yet we all must speak for them, including @abhijeet_dipke. That is exactly why this matters. As @RahulGandhi ji put it, “different banners, one cause”. I said it a few days ago and I reiterate that one doesn’t need to agree with Congress on everything to raise their voice for democratic rights and constitutional values. The freedom to disagree, including with us, is one of the very things we are trying to protect. A democracy shows its character not in how it treats those who agree with power, but in how it treats those who question it. Keeping two young people in jail for a flag and a slogan is a failure of that test. So speak up. For Saurav and Ashutosh today, and for anyone who is wronged tomorrow, whatever their party and whatever their politics. The more of us who speak, the less lonely that courage becomes.

After Priyanka Chaturvedi left the Congress, Uddhav Thackeray and Aaditya Thackeray placed their trust in her during a difficult time. Priyanka Ji should not abandon them now, during this challenging period, otherwise, she will lose all respect in the eyes of the public.

India's voter rolls run on a platform where a State's access can be switched off and on from the centre. That's what an audit of Election Commission's own portal has found. As reported by @sreeparna_c in @the_hindu , an audit of ECINET by the civic-tech initiative @Charchagram_ authored by data scientist Saurav Rajput, an alumnus of IIT Delhi and IIM Calcutta, has found the following. 🔹A State by State switch for voters forms.
The code carries a message: View enumeration form details is not enabled for selected State. Access to voters enumeration forms can be turned on or off one State at a time. 🔹A disable button for every State Nodal Officer.
ECINET has a State Nodal Officer management area with a built in disable action. Each SNO row has a disable button & the pop up reads: On disabling this State Nodal Officer, the user will no longer be able to access the application. In Rajput's words: This seems a full account level block. The text doesn't describe a partial restriction or a role downgrade. 🔹A Bengal only lock.
The audit has also found a feature that can bar EROs & AEROs only in West Bengal from reviewing voters enumeration forms and viewing the notice & hearing dashboard. 🔹Official only code that anyone can read.
ECINET's login page loads a large JavaScript file before anyone logs in. It contains labels, menu names, screen routes & API paths meant only for officials, and anyone can open it. Rajput said: Even some features which are sitting behind the login credentials are available in the front end code. For the database holding India's voter rolls, that is a serious security concern. Now set this against what the Election Commission told the country. On September 24, the ECI said ECINET is a decentralised platform & that nobody else can perform their statutory function on ECINet, including any other officer of ECI. If a State's access to voters' forms can be switched off centrally & a State Nodal Officer can be locked out of the application completely, then ECINET is not the decentralised platform Commission described. It has a central switch. This goes to the heart of the objections raised by 2 of the Commission's own members, Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu & Vivek Joshi, over the centralisation of ECINET and the electoral roll database. Under the law, the EROs hold statutory authority over the electoral roll. A platform that can shut States out of their own voters data hands that power to whoever controls the switch. Questions must be answered - 🔹Who has the power to switch off a State's access to enumeration forms, & who has the power to disable a State Nodal Officer? 🔹Has any State ever been switched off? If so, which State, when & for how long? 🔹Has any State Nodal Officer ever been disabled & on whose order? 🔹Why does ECINET's code contain a lock that applies only to West Bengal? 🔹Why is code meant only for officials publicly readable on the login page of India's voter database? 🔹How does the Commission reconcile all of this with its September 24 claim that ECINET is decentralised? When a system can switch States off at will, the States are not in control of their own voter rolls. Whoever holds the switch is & our nation has a right to know whose hand is on it. The voter roll belongs to the people of India, not to whoever controls the switch. thehindu.com/news/national/o…
ECINet, the Election Commission of India’s (ECI) comprehensive digital platform, has a feature through which viewing of enumeration form details is enabled State by State. This means that access for State Nodal Officers (SNOs) could be switched off anytime making it a centralised platform, according to an audit by ‘Charchagram’, a civic tech initiative. The report assumes significance in view of objections raised by Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi over the centralisation of ECINet and the electoral roll database. ✍️ @sreeparna_c thehindu.com/news/national/o…

Yes but did you not read the next line Pratik or what I wrote in an earlier tweet on the same issue or what I have written on the same issue after this tweet? Maybe you missed it so stating it for you here- He enjoys the same rights which is precisely why he shouldn’t be in jail without trial for 6 years. Those rights aren’t incumbent on ideological loyalty. That’s what our constitution guarantees.

But that is precisely the point I am making. The constitutional protections Sharjeel Imam is entitled to are exactly why he should not have spent nearly six years in jail without trial. The very Constitution he questions guarantees him fundamental rights including personal liberty, due process and freedom of expression. And those protections do not depend on whether he accepts, admires or rejects the constitutional framework. You are arguing against a position I have never taken. I am not suggesting that criticism of the Constitution is illegitimate or that constitutional protections are conditional upon ideological agreement. Quite the opposite. Even if one finds his views utterly repugnant that cannot justify prolonged incarceration without trial. I don’t have to laud Sharjeel Imam’s views to question why he is in jail without trial. The real test of constitutional democracy is whether it protects the rights of those who question its very foundations. That has been my argument all along.
The distinction between "critically examining" the Constitution and "rejecting" it is doing all the work in your reply. Which of his arguments rejects equal citizenship? His central one is that the 1949 settlement withdrew the political safeguards minorities had been promised and left Muslims with formal equality and no institutional voice. Pocker Sahib, Z.H. Lari and Naziruddin Ahmad made that argument on the floor of the Assembly. Ambedkar made the case for such safeguards in States and Minorities. It is a critique in the name of substantive equality, not against it surely? Disagree with it by all means. But saying it is a "rejection of constitutional democracy" is a strawman’s argument. Besides constitutional democracy is not in abstract, there is a quotidian tradition to it as well. Standing to criticise a framework does not depend on refusing its protections. Ambedkar drafted the Constitution and told he would be the first to burn it. And consider the protections you say he "enjoys" being in custody since January 2020 without a trial.
