Every @nokia gNB, a sensor. At #NokiaRadioWorld in Oulu this week, DeepSig showed #OmniSIG running as a dApp inside the Nokia AI-RAN DU, turning the radio network into a nationwide sensor for drones, jammers, GNSS spoofers, and rogue emitters. Governments are asking operators a simple question: what can your network see? The gNB is the best-placed RF sensor ever deployed. It just never ran sensing software. #OmniSIG changes that by using the fronthaul IQ the DU already receives, with unmodified radios and no changes to L1/L2. Because it sees the full RU passband, it also catches threats next to the carrier, not just inside it. The fastest part of the 5G radio, now open to #AI. 🚀 Thousands of times a second, a base station decides how to decode signals, share capacity, and adapt to changing conditions. Until now, those real-time decisions have been locked inside each vendor's system. The #OCUDU AI-RAN Working Group released an open-source preview of the OCUDU dApp platform. Any developer can now bring AI directly into those decisions, safely and in real time. IEEE 802.11 is the global standards body behind Wi-Fi. DeepSig’s Jim Lansford chairs the Wireless Next Generation (WNG) Standing Committee, the incubator for future Wi-Fi standards. At last week’s IEEE 802.11 meeting in Victoria, BC, WNG reviewed 11 technical presentations on the challenges shaping next-gen WLAN, often referred to as Wi-Fi 9. Dr. Lansford and CTO @oshtim presented how AI-Native techniques already used in 5G/6G can be applied to Wi-Fi to improve robustness and throughput in high-interference, congested environments. WNG work continues through 2026, with a formal study group expected in the second half of the year and Wi-Fi 9 development starting in 2027.
