my instagram mutual posted the most terrifying thing ever on his story the other day. i never realized there were people out here still actively planting mustard.
contrary to Takes On My Timeline This Week i think there is nothing wrong with upholding traditional tales & superstitions regarding animals so long as it does not bring them harm, especially considering how many are indigenous beliefs in origin. let the birds be messengers!
this middle aged lady deliberately brought her dog back around to trample around in the bushes at least four separate times as if i was not very clearly sitting 20 feet away with a huge ass camera photographing something in that direction 😭. the lack of awareness is atrocious.
upside: it’s very cool to witness animal relationships in action and how rabbits & ground squirrels react to jay & towhee alarm calls
downside: some guy & his dog come through and scare off effectively every animal in a 600ft radius and i have to wait for them to come back out.
crazy high tides wiped out all the snowy plover nests :((((( emptiest i’ve Ever seen the lagoon. all the drift wood and foliage has been dragged out too… i hope they can find a nice little spot to rebuild the nests.
this little eleodes & wave moth claimed #1 and #2 but i Have also posted observations of an undescribed gall midge that doesn’t rank on this list.
what’s your rarest inaturalist observation? mine is this bee called andrena gardineri with 103 total observations!!
