If you can build a flying car that defies gravity then I'm pretty sure you can build a car that's cheap reliable and lasts fifty years. The world needs that more right now I think.

I keep thinking about the homily from Blessed Fulton Sheen’s beatification yesterday because it made me think about what I have been trying to do with my own social media.
And if you missed it go watch it. It’s amazing
Cardinal Tagle spoke about what it actually means to evangelize. Fulton Sheen reached millions of people through radio and television, but he never treated the size of his audience as the measure of whether he was doing God’s work.
His job was not to make people followers of Fulton Sheen.
His job was to lead them to Christ.
That is something I need to remember.
I have been talking much more openly about my Catholic faith. I share the Mass, the saints, the Eucharist, relics, confession, the history of the Church, and the things I am learning along the way. Sometimes one of those posts reaches hundreds of thousands of people. With that comes a lot of people who are genuinely curious about Catholicism, people who tell me they have started going back to Mass, and people who simply want to understand what Catholics actually believe.
It also brings people who mock it, attack it, or seem determined to turn everything into an argument.
And I would be lying if I said that never gets to me.
But Cardinal Tagle told a story yesterday that put a lot of this into perspective.
When Pope Pius XII once asked Sheen how many converts he had made, Sheen said he deliberately did not count them because he never wanted to believe that those conversions belonged to him. He saw himself as someone helping people find the open door to God.
I love that.
I do not know what someone does after they see one of my posts. I may never know that they went back to Mass, opened a Bible, walked into a church for the first time, went to confession after twenty years, or simply started asking questions about God again.
And I do not need to know.
My responsibility is to tell the truth about the faith I love and try to do it in a way that makes someone want to look a little closer.
Sheen once said he was called to tell the story of Christ and that he never tired of telling it.
I understand that more now.
There is so much about Catholicism that people have never been taught. There is so much beauty they have never seen. There are people who left the Church years ago and still think about coming home. There are people who are searching for God and do not even know where to begin.
If something I post puts Christ in front of one of those people for a few minutes, that matters.
The numbers are interesting. The comments can be encouraging or absolutely insane. But neither one can be the reason for doing it.
The reason has to remain Christ.
Blessed Fulton Sheen, pray for all of us who are trying to tell His story. ✝️🙏

St. Augustine, the "Doctor of Grace," reminds us that holiness begins not with our own strength but with God's grace. He boldly defended the truth that apart from Jesus we cannot save ourselves, but by His grace all things are possible. May we humbly surrender to the Lord and trust in His providence each day.
St. Augustine, pray for us.

Friends, what is the Church built upon? Not common consensus or aristocratic agreement but rather the mystical claim of Peter: “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
Peter and his successors are given the prerogative of announcing this truth up and down the ages. And upon this rock, Christ builds his Church.

The desert is where you meet God. everybody wants the promised land, but first forty years of nothing. first the hunger, not knowing if any of it is real, and you walk anyway. and that walking is the real prayer. the words are just the wind around the body moving forward when everything says to lie down. God is listening for the sound of someone who refuses to die

Work as calling, not just a job
You don’t need to work in ministry for your job to matter to God.
Showing up on time, doing honest work, treating coworkers well, all of that counts too.
Colossians puts it plainly, whatever you do, work like you’re doing it for the Lord. Even the nine to five nobody claps for.

Becoming more like Christ isn’t a one time event, it’s a lifelong process that keeps going until you see Him face to face.
Growth is often slow and unglamorous.
Don’t be discouraged by how far you still have to go. Be encouraged by how far you’ve already come.
