People mad about ‘Alex Eala being pushed on our faces’ after Wimbledon need to relax.
She didn’t get crowned with anything fake.
She made real history; first Filipina to R16 at a Slam, beat the defending champion Swiatek on Centre Court, hit career-high #28, and earned WTA Star of the Swing.
That’s not media manufacturing a star. That’s results creating a story.
When a player from a country with almost no tennis tradition does this, of course the coverage follows. It’s organic. It’s good for the sport.
If the attention bothers you, scroll. But don’t rewrite what actually happened on court. She earned every headline. 🔥🇵🇭

HOLY SHIT 🔥
Japan is not playing games anymore.
At NicoNico Chokaigi 2026, **Japan Strategy Minister Onoda Kimi** dropped this absolute fire:
**“Shut up — This is Japan!”**
She made it crystal clear: The Japanese government will defend anime, manga, and Japanese creators from foreign pressure and demands to change their work.
This is exactly what Japanese Art Freedom Month is all about.
Massive respect to Minister Onoda and Japan for standing firm and protecting real creative freedom 👑
