Phaistos is now extrapolation.
I'll keep searching, exploring, paying my technical debts and having fun — until something clicks. There are constraints, but what's the pain when you enjoy what you're doing?.
Better to start messy than never.
Introducing Phaistos, my new newsletter on substack where I talk about my interest ( cryptography, blockchain and absolute bangers 🔥)

The guy who invented electromagnetism was writing mnemonic poems connecting jouissance and cybernetics in 1834 and you're stuck on fruit flies and air gaps.
I find this both funny and true: "Some cryptography papers are so incomprehensible to folks lacking domain-specific knowledge that it’s tempting to wonder if the paper is, itself, encrypted."
Am the guy that helped you take some of the pics 😊.
Had a great time at the @blockhubafrica Build & Pitch Session.
I learned a lot, especially about the common mistakes founders make in fundraising conversations, from @s3unha, @ryantasie of @lavavc_, and @jamitHQ @iKEOrizu
During the Q&A sesh, I asked a question important to me,
How do you pitch an unconventional business that people may not immediately understand?
One answer really stuck with me, and it was to take the investor/person on an imagination journey.
Don't bury the opportunity under endless text. Help them see what you see.
Imagine pitching Instagram when it started, essentially as a photo filtering app, knowing what it has become today. If you were pitching that business at the beginning, how could you possibly capture everything Instagram could eventually become in a few slides?
Sometimes, especially when building something unconventional, your job isn't just to explain what exists today. You have to help the person across the table visualise the future with you.
The Instagram example drove this home beautifully for me.
Afterwards, we got to interact 1 on 1, and I was passionately talking to @s3unha about gaming, esports and the Esports World Cup.
Chief looked at me and said:
“Bro, I'm Korean. Of course I know about all that.” 😂😂😂
I laughed so hard my head nearly fell off. Here I was explaining gaming to someone from one of the cultures that practically helped write the esports textbook. 😂
The chief has four brains though 😂 and I'm glad I got to learn from him and the crew.
It was an ensemble cast at the event too. I ran into many cool founders building great stuff and heading various communities in 042 and beyond.
Massive shout out to Sir Emma and @blockhubafrica for putting it all together. 🙏🏾🫡

generative cryptography is already happening (wasn't a year ago!)
* verifiable competitions (zkgolf, better codes)
* crypto benchmarks
* lean datasets for cryptography (arklib, catcrypto)
* cryptoanalysis using AI
i propose a conference in london end of year to map it out

what if both the creation and verification of cryptanalytic attacks could be automated?

we have philosophers in residence, poet feels like the next frontier

i love twitter
within just 2 hours of tweeting an RSA-260 factor, a researcher from the team who factored RSA-155 in 1999 shows up in the replies to say congrats

Interesting measure of progress: strong RSA implementations were once subject to U.S. munitions export controls
Now an engineer armed with Devin can factor RSA-260

wow 60 of you wrote to me in private dms, didn't know lean and cryptography were so popular.
Using Fable 5.1, we’ve elicited a decoding of a cipher that has been unsolved for 373 year, and listed as #28 on Klaus Schmeh’s (the most-published cryptology author in the world) “The Top 50 unsolved encrypted messages.”
The solution? Almost embarrassingly simple in hindsight.
