REVIEW: MMFF Movie 'About Us But Not About Us' The movie looks very simple. Two men having a 90-minute conversation over brunch in a posh restaurant in BGC and it's as if you're seated next to them, eavesdropping in their conversation. The movie opens with the song that will give away Romnick's character's age - a 40yr old gay literature professor. Elijah plays Lancelot, a UP Literature student mentored by Ericson (Romnick). And when you thought that the two-man set-up will bore you to nap - think again. Pero be patient in the beginning 'coz it will feel a bit slow at first but will shift into second and third gear in the next twenty minutes. Spoiler alert - their conversation slowly unraveled some of their deep darkest secrets just like having that juicy tender rib-eye steak and apple pie. From jealousy, to filthy underground porn hustling, surprise confessionals, deception, extorsion and fame-whoring - it was crazy. But crazy delicious. Napa- 'oooh' and 'aaah' kami sa mga revelations and as you head over to the exit door, you'll ask yourself - what happens next? Not mindfuck level, but pretty smooth and will definitely melt in your mouth just like a freshly baked apple pie. 🍰
