They’ll never forgive a bunch of grad student libs for making a company more valuable than almost anything they’ve ever funded and that all their portfolio companies are dependent on

I take offense to this but only because it's too scolding to be funny. it reads like a Bill Maher monologue or a MAGA guy calling James Talarico vegan for the 850th time

The documentary is about his half-sister Iman navigating the complexities of being a queer Arab Muslim woman who loves her family, faith, and heritage but wants her people to embrace a more expansive notion of belonging that accepts all of her. You bigots are too dumb to get it.

I am deeply concerned about the actions of the Indian government to purge 130 million people from the voting rolls. This appears to be a similar playbook to what the Trump Administration is doing here at home to undermine voting rights in a democracy.
I know a few people like this: young, extremely successful, and lots of free time. They could party and live lavishly. But once they got it out of their system, they came to realize gaming and doomscrolling is what life is all about.
Ben Affleck says he spent 3 years at home playing StarCraft after becoming famous
“There was a game called StarCraft that probably took the most life out of me for a period of time. I had just got famous and all I did was stay home for three years and play StarCraft”
“I love Valorant. It's a great game. The problem with that game is that with kids that have been raised playing, I just get f**king rocked. I'm like, ‘Are you f**king cheating?’ And I get mad. It's very humiliating”
“I love 2K. I love Madden. And the early Doom, when I first played that game, which then gave rise to Quake. We played that endlessly for hours when we were doing Good Will Hunting. I remember writing and taking these long breaks to play Doom”

This is also one of India's biggest anti-patriachy protests. The last 15 years have been a relentless campaign to remove women from public spaces through violence and fear. This is a rejection of that misogyny and bigotry.

it’s honestly pretty funny to me that it’s possible to have a subculture that both worships perceived intelligence over all *and* is profoundly anti-intellectual at the same time

I get that he has to try something new to boost his popularity but I still don’t think the Vice President should be making songs like this

You can be in the most conservative Midwestern city and if you go into a Half Price Books it will have concentrated many of the queer people in the city into one place and created a sort of Portland microclimate.
