Louth Chamber Orchestra holding their debut concert in #Dundalk

Relatively hot on the heels of the wonderful @IrishNatOpera production of Vivaldi's L'Olimpiade... I'm off to Verdi's La Traviata this evening... and the summer's coming 🌞 Terribly pleased with myself 😀 #Verdi #LoveOpera

Feature on @IrishNatOpera tour of Vivaldi's L’Olimpiade from @RTEArena With a beautiful little appetiser from mezzo Alexandra Urquiola at 9:15 singing 'Sta piangendo la tortorella' from Act II. Absolutely gorgeous. #LoveOpera tinyurl.com/3e4x765p

Blooming miserable, wet, grey afternoon... Good luck with that mother nature... I love #Opera Patricia Petibon & #Handel making the rain stop 💦😃 shorturl.at/ctIZ2 #Alcina #LoveOpera

Such a pity to hear that @Operanow is moving to quarterly & will be a supplement to @GramophoneMag (itself a great publication). Have been reading & enjoying Opera Now for many years. Looks like it may be becoming the 'Operaish' section of Gramophone. #LoveOpera

Thrilled to see @IrishNatOpera touring L'Olimpiade by #Vivaldi this spring. Much more to him than the 4 Seasons... his operas are joyous, uplifting & beautiful. #LoveOpera

Late new year's resolution. Read much more of Robert Thicknesse on #Opera in @TheCriticMag Highly recommended. What a breath of fresh air. #LoveOpera

Very interesting piece by @dafyddhw about Ulster Touring Opera @UTOtweet in @Operanow July issue. Bringing #Opera to audiences North & South. Excellent! #LoveOpera

I've signed up for this rather intriguing event @antainarts Dundalk A 'virtual reality community opera' from @IrishNatOpera Looking forward to this! Info: tinyurl.com/y99by6b9 #LoveOpera

A real treat for choral music fans coming up Oct 29th @NCH_Music The Dream of Gerontius by Elgar with @olcs_ie & featured soloists incl. @bethtaylormezzo A must! Details: tinyurl.com/23ynj5kk

Doing a bit of reading about #RichardStrauss & read he was famously a bit detached.. well very detached at times.. while conducting 😯 rb.gy/kr08l9 #Opera #LoveOpera

Site of the former... La Scala Theatre and Opera House. ...Dublin Talk about Chutzpah! #Opera #LoveOpera

Was a bit apprehensive about an ensemble re-working of one of my favourite symphonies. Don't mess with perfection 😠 But this is a wonderful reading... the scale is smaller but the balance & mood is perfect 😀 A more modest take on a magisterial masterpiece #Beethoven

Listening to & liking this a lot. BariTenor by Michael Spyres @Spikelmyers Winner of @GramophoneMag Voice & Ensemble award 🏆 & @TheOperaAwards Solo Recital award 🏆 Quite an eclectic album with a wonderful uplifting take on Rossini's 'Largo al factotum' shorturl.at/fpDGQ

Five Stars all round! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Glowing review of @IrishNatOpera production of Guillaume Tell from Robert Thicknesse @Operanow #Opera #LoveOpera

Excellent piece by Thomas Neill on Benjamin Britten & his reception in Ireland @journalofmusic Let's hope his statue doesn't get pulled down... rb.gy/wnpuxj #Opera #LoveOpera

This week. listening to Ludovic Tezier's 'Verdi' album. Baritones tend to 'give out' or 'complain' which can make arias a bit stopy/starty. But this is a beautiful collection. Favourite: 'Di Provenza il mar, il suol' from La Traviata.. but that will change! #LoveOpera #Verdi

Gave up on the twitter machine for a long time. But tentatively coming back now for obvious reasons.

In a very regal mood... Today's listening. 🫅 A #Donizetti fest! Compare & contrast as we used to be asked in the Leaving Cert. #LoveOpera #OperaKey
