So many ways to blame women for the behaviour of their abuser.
I'm compiling #data on it.
I’ve just heard on @BBCNews that Russell Brand’s defence barrister questioning a victim said ‘ you could have struggled more’. Are we in 1976? I can’t quite believe that can be said in a UK court by a legal professional in 2026. Victim blaming is still going on. Shameful language
'Let’s take the three subjects Ms Gilruth mentioned in turn: firstly, “a Scotland in which women are silenced”. The deputy first minister provided no examples, but let me. Twice, I went to attempts by a group of women to screen a documentary about women’s rights, Adult Human Female. The first time, it couldn’t go ahead because of a large group of protesters and the second time, it went ahead but only thanks to heavy security. I spoke to both sides and the women trying to screen the film couldn’t have been less right-wing if they’d tried, and the protesters who were trying to silence them were absolutely of the Left, not the Right.' heraldscotland.com/politics/…
Who built the well?
A farmer, tired of rats destroying his crops and stealing his grain, came up with a clever but cruel plan. He threw a dead pig into a deep, abandoned well. Attracted by the smell, nearly 80 rats rushed into the well to feast on the carcass. At first, everything seemed wonderful. There was more than enough food for everyone, and the rats ate until they were satisfied.
But when the food was gone, they discovered something terrifying. The walls of the well were too steep to climb. They were trapped. Days passed, and hunger turned into desperation. Desperation turned into aggression. The rats that had once eaten peacefully beside one another began fighting for survival. Eventually, they began killing and eating each other.
One by one, their numbers dwindled until only a single rat remained. Its eyes were bloodshot, and it had survived by consuming its own kind. Then the farmer returned, lowered a rope into the well, and rescued the last surviving rat. But he didn't save it out of kindness or compassion.
The farmer knew the rat had learned to survive by hunting other rats. When he released it into his fields, it would continue killing its own kind instead of eating his grain. The farmer had turned his enemy into his greatest weapon.
And that is the lesson of divide and conquer. Those who control the trap don't need to fight the battles themselves. They simply create the conditions in which others turn against one another.
The rats believed their enemies were the other rats. They never realized that the true enemy was the farmer who had put them there.
The greatest danger isn't always the enemy standing in front of you. Sometimes it's the one who created the conflict and stands quietly watching you destroy each other.
Before you turn against your neighbor because of their political beliefs, ask yourself who benefits from keeping Americans divided. While we fight each other over Republican and Democrat, we may be overlooking those who profit from the conflict. Perhaps the real question isn't which side you're on, but who built the well—and why they want us fighting at the bottom of it.

The media doesn't want you to know this, but if you're a guilt-ridden rich guy who thinks the rich should pay more in taxes...you can just send all your money to the government!
Yes, really.
The Bureau of Fiscal Service has a voluntary account since 1843, and you can hand over all your earthly belongings to Uncle Sam if you feel they can do more with your money than you can.
Think we should all pay more taxes? Then you get to go first.

if you caused someone pain, you don’t get to dictate how they tell their story. if you don’t want people knowing what you did, don’t do things you’re ashamed of being exposed for. the betrayal was in your actions, not in someone finally speaking up about what they endured. you don’t get to play the victim just because the truth makes you uncomfortable. that’s called accountability.
Gaun yerself! 👏👏👏
⚠️ An 82 year old Grandma from Leeds has declared WAR on corporate greed by setting up a stall outside her local Morrisons selling her collection of second hand carrier bags, after being enraged at the supermarket charging an extortionate 60p per bag! 😲
"I've been hoarding these bloody things for 30 years!" she explained. "I've got hundreds under the kitchen sink, cupboards full of them and thousands piled up in the garden shed!"
The pensioner pocketed a whopping £13.40 on her first day and insists she'll be back tomorrow, claiming she's got enough bags at home to keep her in business until 2029.
👇That's why they get so frustrated, puzzled and angry when they try it on an intelligent, self-actualised person who can't be bullied.
When narcissists feel insecure about what you have, they sabotage your financial freedom by planting self-doubt and destroying opportunities behind your back. Then they send flying monkeys to brag about what they have and shame you for not having the same or more. The goal is simple, make you insecure enough to disappear.

Burned all the literal biology books. Erased heroes from their history. Now attacks on free speech. SNP are proving to be quite something.... from the mid 1930's, can't quite put my finger on it....
I've felt conflicted about using this platform for a long time. Respecting the intention of the resolution which SNP members passed at conference, I will no longer post here.

Says the party that fought through courts to unlawfully remove women's rights, keep men in women's prisons & punish female nurses who objected to male colleagues watching them undress in women's workplace changing rooms...
Misogyny has no place in Scotland.
A new £1 million Respect Fund will give every school in Scotland resources to challenge sexism, educate young people and promote equality.
