You're using 'raw' counts, which just tracks the growth of the collection. Normalize and there's no evidence that Freire is more widely assigned now. Probably the contrary. analytics.opensyllabus.org/s…

Agree, and that includes this world, since it is not assigned in literature classes. It's assigned in various theory, culture, and philosophy classes -- which we sometimes classify as English.

That's not what our data shows. Wealth of Nations is the 129th most assigned title in the US and in the top 20 if you remove textbooks and reference books. Road to Serfdom has 850 assignments in the US.

5th most common field of assignment overall. Here's the top of a search for US syllabi, classified as English, that assign it. It's mostly courses on philosophy and critical thinking.

The 1148 schools mapped in the Course Matcher cover over 50% of US enrollment. We'll get that closer to 90% in the next year, and also significantly expand international coverage, starting with Canada. The Matcher can handle CA-CA or CA-US transfer as easily as anything else.
Syllabus comparison between is the gold standard for determining course similarity. Lack of good ways to compare classes has been a major obstacle -- though not the only one -- to a functional course transfer system at any level of higher education.
You can get to syllabus-to-syllabus comparisons in some cases, save the URL, and send that in with an application for transfer credit. The decision maker at the school can look at the same comparison. coursematcher.opensyllabus.o…
How does it work? The Course Matcher predicts similarity between over 4 million classes from 1148 schools in the US and Canada. Look up any class at School A and find the best matches for it at School B. If we have syllabi for those classes, we'll show them.
Open Syllabus is proud to launch the Course Matcher, which will make it easier for the roughly 1 million US college students who transfer schools every year to receive credit for their classes. coursematcher.opensyllabus.o…
