Openclipart 3.0.2: edge blocks on abusive /tag/ URLs, faster tag queries, stronger image caching, and more free disk after a capacity crunch. Still public domain. Still clipping culture.
1/ Openclipart had a rough day — load ~45, lots of 5xx. Looked like an attack; root cause was expensive unindexed /tag/ lookups (often spam URLs matching zero clipart).
2/ Shipped 3.0.1: reject implausible tags before SQL + short statement timeouts on tag queries. Spam paths now return in ~0.1s instead of hanging workers for 10–20s.
Openclipart is under heavy ai agent serving right now and working on improving performance under these conditions. Will only increase!

The FONTLIBRARY logo needs some love. The original is a derivative of the original Openclipart logo.

HBD! Bassel Khartabil would be 45 today. Open‑hardware pioneer, Wikimedia contributor, and co‑founder of New Palmyra — with unreleased letters, drives and notes that could still reshape heritage preservation and open tech. Honor him: edit, share, build.

We wish @creativecommons would rejoin social channels where its users are located.
The current crop of Ai (autocomplete on steroids) has a long way to go!

Remember Bassel joined the public discourse with his entry into @openclipart & @creativecommons and wanted to come to @LGMeeting but it never worked out IRL. Remotely, yes. He was a major libre graphics contributor.
