Democrats will insist on the importance of incrementalism and gradual change and then act like you're insane for worrying when they increasingly endorse transphobia in gradual increments

yes Tim but decades later we're still talking about their games and how much they influenced design. some people create art to make a difference. others do to earn profit. and btw you laid off 1000 people this year, so you don't own that moral highground either.

really cool that "we don't HAVE to support you freaks" is now the default liberal response to trans people being concerned for our rights

You are a shitty ally if you can't take literally any pushback from a group you supposedly support.
This infuriates me. I and most democrats are proud pro trans allies—in a time where it would be easy to not be. We do it anyway because it’s the right thing to do. To have my support and allyship be billed as “abandonment” is a slap in the face honestly.

"Good art is actually about creating shareholder value"
Nice work, but who told you that “…the end product is not the point. Art is about the process”? A lot of “artists” confuse the craft with the purpose. Young artists, please don’t take this advice. If you’re one of the few skilled enough to make a living doing art, this ideology will make it much harder to survive in the industry. If you work for a studio, you’re there to provide value to the people paying you, not to soak in your own “artistry.” It’s a commercial venture. You should do your best work because it creates value for your employer and also elevates your own skills and stature in the field. If you’re an indie artist, the stakes are even higher. Now you have to survive, which means being as efficient and business-savvy as possible. If you raise $50K on Kickstarter and your choice is between making a three-minute “handmade” trailer or using AI to help create an entire feature or the first season of a series, you choose the completed project every time. The odds of raising enough money to finish a handmade feature over several years get worse every year. You aren’t serving your audience, your investors, or the people you employ by being inefficient.
