Would venture to guess that > 50% of people who have $1-10m lifetime PnL in crypto will piss away 90-100% over the next 3-5 years Take some off. Invest in some boring stuff. You have infinity trades in front of you but they only matter if you stay in the game.

I've had 100+ people dm me asking for trading tips, what indicators I use, what "system" I use etc I wish so badly that there was some secret system or tool I could tell (or sell 😏) you, but the real answer is extremely disappointing. On my @HyperliquidX account, I don't use special custom indicators. I don't set stop losses or have predefined R:R, I don't use automation or algos, I don't know what ICT stands for, I don't look at order flow, I don't have a 16 screen setup I spend all day looking at, I don't draw trendlines or do TA. This is pure discretionary click trading. I have the stock 2 moving averages and volume as my indicators. I trade off a laptop for probably an hour a day. I'm not long only but mostly longs and hedges for spot. I have a relatively low ratio of volume traded to PNL. My "system" is only trading less than a dozen coins I fundamentally and deeply understand. I research obsessively and only take trade setups where I think there's clear edge or informational asymmetry. I've staked 100,000 $HYPE since TGE for fee discounts. I only long coins that I think are fundamentally underpriced and would be happy to become a "community member" on. I set limit bids where I think loser 🏳️‍🌈🐻 will panic sell them, and I set limit asks where I think suckers will fomo buy them. My "system" is probably less intricate or sophisticated than most of yours. My only advice is that you should probably be trading way less, and reading way more. DefiLlama pages, governance proposals, macro news, interviews with founders, community TG/Discords. You can't trade your way out of bad idea generation, but you can make up for poor execution with good ideas.

I have a long written theory on how Hyperliquid is actively killing the main benefits of traditional staking economics. Hyperliquid’s market structure make 40-years of Staking Emissions a VERY POOR use of protocol resources. Jeff will kill the LST leverage that drives Ethereum’s DeFi ecosystem with Portoflio Margin; after that, network native yield serves no purpose. Staking Yield != network activity on HL HL could entirely cut staking emissions and it would probably be a net driver of protocol growth. - less user demand for staking means more HYPE for portfolio margin, which drives protocol fees and burn. - The continuous driver of HYPE staking demand is not yield, its protocol utility: HIP-3/HIP-4 500k stake, AQAV2 1M stake, Fee Discount 10-500k HYPE staked, Foundation Node low-latency access 10k HYPE staked, and I promise you there will be more …. This is structurally a different staking economy where HL DeFi activity & holder base is NOT driven by staking yield. Most of Ethereum’s DeFi activity lives downstream of the LST levered loop, which is why it’s treated as first class (not “network security” lol. EigenLayer proved that network security does NOT cost any meaningful % of token supply). Staking Yield is to spur network activity on ETH/SOL & drive locked tokens. Jeff has other ways to drive tokens to get locked (forcing every business partner to buy&stake) + user staking actively pulls funds outside of PM. Jeff is pulling all the HYPE liquidity back to HyperCore for Portfolio Margin. The native yield DeFi flywheel that SOL & ETH need …. Hyperliquid does not need. The native staking yield just doesn’t do much for Hyperliquid like it does in other ecosystems. It’s structurally why LSTs are supposed to shift their function -> tokenized utility instead of tokenized yield…. $sthype cc: @izebel_eth

Cobie explains the mental model that turned buying stupid ape pictures into millions. "My own mental model is that you isolate your risk and you try every novel thing." "You do not try everything, because then you are chasing forks and end up in bad projects." "Instead of trying to figure out why a novel thing won't work, you may as well just give it a go. If you do this with Hyperliquid or buying the Ape pictures, you ended up a millionaire." "When there is a new thing happening, people's instinct is to say this is stupid and dumb. You just need to invert that instinct and ask, what if this worked?"

Steve Kerr says Roger Federer taught his Warriors team the secret to sustained success wasn’t outworking everyone, it was building a life around your craft you never want to escape from “I’ll tell you a great story about Roger Federer. We were playing in China with the Warriors in 2017. Roger was in Shanghai for the Masters tournament, so we invited him to come speak to the team.” “Draymond Green asked him, ‘How do you sustain success? How have you managed to win majors 20 years after you first won one?’ Everyone was expecting him to say, ‘I work harder than everybody,’ the will, all the clichés.” “Roger Federer says, ‘I get up every morning and I make breakfast for my kids. Then I take them to school and drop them off. Then I go practice tennis for about two hours, and I’ve figured out a really good routine where I don’t destroy my body, but I can get all the work in I need.” “‘Then I go have lunch with my wife. In the evening, we cook dinner together. The kids are all home from school. We ask them about school. There’s so much joy in the house. We put them to bed, and then I put my head on the pillow and go, “Man, that was just a great day.” And I’ve been doing that for 20 years.’” “And it was like, yes. That’s it. That’s the formula. That’s what leads to sustained success. He loves tennis. He loves his family. He loves life. It’s not outworking everybody and banging your head against the wall, ‘I’m going to be better than everybody.’ It’s allowing your natural talent to shine through with a work ethic, with a great family life, with perspective, with peace, with mindfulness.” “It’s perspective. It’s joy. It’s passion. It’s mindfulness. It’s an awareness that we are truly lucky. To get the most out of ourselves, it’s our daily rituals and experiences and love and joy.”

because A. no other industry enables 0->1 like crypto, gl getting in ai cos unless ur fking the founder or in a triple layered late stage spv. hl and lighter, like defi protocols before them, gave away huge swaths of equity at 0 B. discounting based on lemon mkt - the avg external participant cant distinguish between the scams and the good projs - maybe theyre just starting to differentiate hyperliquid. but if youre someone who can differentiate, the investing frictions allow you to realize higher % when youre later correct b sounds silly when stock mkt cos doing same principles but all that has happened will happen again

i've been saying this for a while now, but despite all the market euphoria and tl hype, i believe the market still doesn't truly understand hyperliquids long term impact on the industry. The way it was conceived, crafted, and launched will forever change crypto and how to do things "the right way" The bar has been set and hopefully many new founders will aspire to the same ethos set by hl and the team. I never say this but for the first time in a very long time, I feel hopeful in crypto.

My bullish/bearish take on bitcoin is that we shouldn’t blame any entity for buying too much of it, because if bitcoin can be killed by an entity buying it, then it wasn’t meant to be. If all it takes to kill bitcoin is a bullish entity that likes it enough to buy, then go home.
As @LynAldenContact says. If one entity is able to be a problem that kills it, it’s never meant to be more.

For all the people who are about to be rich and want to stay that way I strongly urge reading this essay by @paulg paulgraham.com/selfindulgenc…
I spoke with a member of the technical staff at Anthropic yesterday who is about to make $17 million. He's been there less than 2.5 years and is blown away by his equity value. His biggest worry now is tax strategy. His CPA told him to "max out his 401(k) and consider a donor-advised fund." While that's a great starting point, here's what makes even more sense: He's acquiring a 48 unit apartment complex in Phoenix for $14.5 million. We're running a cost segregation study to reclassify approximately 30% of the depreciable basis into 5, 7, and 15 year property. Here's the math: • $14.5M purchase price • ~$12.3M depreciable basis (excluding land) • ~$3.7M reclassified to short-life assets via cost seg • 100% bonus depreciation under OBBBA = $3.7M accelerated to Year 1 Plus standard Year 1 depreciation on the remaining basis adds another ~$315K. Total Year 1 deduction: approximately 4M. His wife is qualifying as a real estate professional 750+ hours, more time than any other activity. The loss is no longer passive. It offsets ordinary income. At a 37% federal bracket plus 13.3% California, that's a combined rate just over 50%. $4M × 50% = 2M+ in tax savings. Year 1. Layer in operating expenses, loan interest, and startup costs on the property, the total offset against his Anthropic income crosses $3 million. Not deferred. Not spread over 27.5 years. Meanwhile, the property cash flows. He's converted concentrated tech stock into a real asset producing monthly income. And he's done it all before he files the return on his equity windfall. This is what real tax planning looks like for tech liquidity. If you're an engineer, exec, or early employee sitting on a meaningful equity position and your CPA hasn't mentioned cost segregation, bonus depreciation, or REPS qualification, you're probably leaving seven figures on the table.

With the recent sophisticated hacks fresh on everyone's mind, there's been a lot of talk about ✨fancy stacks and setups.✨ Yes, you should evaluate how—and with what—you sign txns. But building a custom UI for your LAN Qubes OS AWS KMS everyday is not really the answer 😅

A thread on why *insert incumbent broker / exchange will not be able to start innovating like prime steve jobs and outcompete Hyperliquid. The Incompatability Problem:
All of a sudden y’all are expecting traditional exchanges who are literally the textbook examples of heavy, slow, incumbent organizations bogged down by regulation to start innovating like prime steve jobs or something

S&P Dow Jones Indices and trade[XYZ] have joined forces to launch the first official S&P 500 perpetual contract, available exclusively on Hyperliquid. For 69 years, the S&P 500 has been a defining reference point for global finance. Until now, access to that benchmark has been shaped by market hours, intermediaries, and geography. Today, that changes. The S&P 500 perp is now available 24/7/365, anchored by the official index data required for deep liquidity and institutional confidence at scale.  SPDJI helped define modern indexing. They are stewards of an iconic benchmark, the standard against which portfolios across the globe are measured. We are honored to bring that legacy on-chain. Trade[XYZ] is bringing the world's most iconic assets towards a future of global, continuous markets — a future powered by Hyperliquid.
