sorry but not every creative decision that people dislike is secretly a brilliant act of artistic rebellion that everyone is too shallow to understand. you can’t retroactively turn an album being poorly received into a grand commentary on the concept of audience expectations
Food for thought. Everyone wanted to see the life of showgirl so much, she gave it to you just how you asked. the life of a showgirl is empty and built only to appease you.

she did not intentionally make a bad album as some kind of profound artistic statement about fandom culture and the pressure to meet people’s expectations at the expense of “true art” pleaseeee. it’s ok to just not like it! you don’t like it! that’s ok!

he had so much respect for his work, regardless of what he was making. and as a little girl watching barbie movies, i could tell it was being taken seriously. you may not have the vocabulary for it as a child, but you can feel when adults respect you and your imagination.
Tim curry talking about Barbie like if she was a real life person 😭💔

we really need to start respecting children again, and making media for them accordingly. with the same care, ambition, and artistic integrity we’d give anything made for adults. children notice that.

i probably wasn’t going to make it to london for this anyway, but the fact that a sondheim production was cancelled because of their lack of commitment and professional responsibility is heartbreaking. what a disgraceful way to treat the work and everyone involved.
‘Sunday in the Park with George’ has been cancelled following the exits of Ariana Grande & Jonathan Bailey. Empire Street Productions plans to revisit the project in 2028.

it was a turning point for this city and this country and the west and some things changed forever after that day and it was very sad and it still is

We're all so burnt out of bitter, hateful, spiteful, violent, angry, ironic politics and culture. Terrorism is bad. Death is sad. It's ok to feel sad and to cry about it. I want to care about people! I don't care if it's cringe. It's right! And it's kind!

sem contar que o número de brasileiros bilíngues com certeza é inflado pelos milhares de pessoas que falam italiano e alemão no sul e espanhol nas regiões de fronteira. eles também falam essas línguas porque é a língua da família e não por ter aprendido na escola.

silo should’ve been more careful with accents imo. it makes no sense that after centuries of isolation with one enclosed population speaking almost exclusively to each other they’d have a bunch of distinct regional accents. accents and would’ve leveled out in less than 100 years

it should be a shared accent with social variation, like maybe upper levels have a more conservative/prestigious form, middle levels the standard accent, lower levels a working-class accent. that would communicate social stratification and make the worldbuilding more realistic

it would also help if juliette’s accent was a little more consistent bc in the same scene she’ll sound british, then american, then like english isn’t her first language
