This is why PO should never agree to deputize anyone again. The position of the VP has little or no effect in driving any meaningful change. Osibanjo was VP for 8 years, but his strongest period of executive influence was during Buhari’s absence. He activated Ease of Doing Business, made decisions in the Northeast on insurgency, dismissed Lawal Daura. In those few months, the whole country felt that something was moving. Unfortunately, he is likely to be remembered for contributing to this mess we have found ourselves in.
