Have somebody that wants advice to bring a legit large business onchain
Going public will take a year + expenses vs onchain but even with the best partners / launch the result would be shadow realm for the token it seems
There’s this cucked thinking that $PAPER isn’t a scam because Jez is smart, OG, posting long think pieces about the protocol
Reality is they went from supply cap to infinite supply & raped anyone who staked. Just as big of a scam as a basic pumpfun bundler, with extra steps
No strong opinion on $PAPER or @papertrade_xyz, but I think it's very wrong to attack @izebel_eth and team
They made it abundantly clear up front that this was going to be very experimental, and they listed out several possible issues/exploits in the docs.
Constructive criticism is fine, but let's not attack the people trying cool new shit. We want more experimental and ambitious stuff being attempted on chain, not less.
Failure, especially in uncharted territory, doesn't equal scamming. This goes for a lot of other founders who catch shit for having failed in past endeavors too.
What makes this an actual scam / rug is @papertrade_xyz team looks to be keeping the millions they made off this
If they were good actors that would be a non starter and those funds would be used to help bail out the early users you raped
It just happens that a side effect of 3. is that the team lines their pockets with $5m+ of dev fees, because if this plan was known from the beginning it would not be farmed so aggressively
I am optimistic that jez and blurr are not bad actors but waters are muddied a bit tbh
Did not expect to get rugged on $PAPER, had high conviction this would be a $1b + protocol

owning paper is owning a share in the house
this is only valuable insofar as the house is valuable. owning a lot of a dead house is worthless, and any design that would let the house stay at zero is a failed design.
when we went out, there were certain known problems with known timelines (builder codes) and some unsolved problems with unknown timelines. the perp attack described in the main was an unsolved problem, but we hoped to solve it as we made progress elsewhere. we knew it was impossible to set all the parameters and variables perfectly prelaunch - we are the first through the wall in a very adversarial environment - and i thought we would have more time to find solutions. unfortunately, the way things are advancing, we dont have six months until a large perp listing, its coming already. these were labelled as unsolved “good problems” and here we are. the market forced our hand into making the decision before we found a solution to the problem, and so for the health of the protocol the token is now non-transferrable. i want to thank all of the pre-market perp dexes, especially the hyperliquid ecosystem ones, who were in contact through this process. i am sorry I was not able to find a design for transferability that worked, i tried very hard.
ultimately, the success of papertrade relies on what it always has - whether the end product has user PMF. i have extreme confidence in the product we've built and continue to add to. i have had to personally self-exclude myself from similar products before because i used them too much. the token being transferable or not does not change whether a degen will longterm choose to trade on papertrade or not. the execution, site quality, mechanism, and economics of the trade will. papertrade is the fastest way to go from usdc in your wallet on any chain to a leveraged speculation exposure. providing clean, working, composability derivative liquidity in a permissionless environment is the vision.

His mother has been identified as Shauntai Nickerson.
I located these photographs on Facebook, including one showing Griffin alongside his mother.
I have personally reached out to Shauntai Nickerson for comment.
