I mean, how is this even a controversial take? (I mean, of course it will be.) Marvel Studios could never make a movie as good (or, crucially, as ambitious) as either “Spider-Verse” movie. If a periodic “Morbius” is the cost of doing business, so be it.

The blow-out success of #SpiderManAcrossTheSpiderVerse shows that A) Walt Disney is no longer the king (quality notwithstanding) of theatrical animation and B) it's good Sony kept the Spider-Man rights. Fair or not, Disney/Marvel never would have made a film like this.
