In the end it's probably the best overall UI development setup in the Rust ecosystem, but I do not very much like working with tauri because of the awkward cross-language build and tooling setup.

Just read the statement "Typescript + Node + Ink + React is a respectable choice for a TUI application" and I don't like where the world is right now and how we got there.

It is going to be fun when people start doing raids in forever and Horde can only put together 40 undead paladins.

There's a WoW Forever class I wasn't intending to play, but then I thought of the perfect character name for it and now I have to at least try to get it.

Underrated aspect of using AI to do everything... you get a pretty comprehensive event log of stuff. So no more "Ah yeah something failed two weeks ago but I didn't save it off", just go search the log instead.

I used the "covers all the bases" metaphor and for some reason immediately started to wonder if this baseball metaphor reads outside of the US.

WoW Forever was a bit of a poison pill. Having reacquired some amount of addiction, I jumped back into retail for a bit. Except I don't understand anything that's happening at all.

Mostly those principles are around evaluating tradeoffs. You have to make calculated tradeoffs to ship things and the quality of these tradeoff decisions is critical. I feel this is probably not well-enough understood across the wider world.

A thing I strongly appreciate about all of the companies I've worked for is that shipping stuff is the main priority. I feel like early in my career this established several good principles that I follow.

I feel like Al Pacino in with this "open jev" stuff... every time I completely dismiss it as a research direction someone drops some new attempt at it. I run it against my test suite -> it is about as accurate as a coin flip -> I cry -> I open twitter -> there's another new one.

The real learning I have is that I want to use classifier models in tandem with LLMs to suggest directions. I don't want to build anything real world on them. But I'm still working exclusively with "open jev" projects rather than anything else. And some of them seem fantastically useful on their own, just not for the use case I wanted.

Just gonna start muting all versions of “jev isn’t that complicated/useful” and sour grapes from people who fine tuned a bert once.

I’m looking forward to paladin at 60 after this beta is over. But it’d be nice if they could add a flight point to the paladin town or something. Maybe it pops up after quests.

Oh there is a dungeon in the undercity apparently.

Can’t lie I’m actually pretty interested in the Googlebook. But one thing I’m very much not in the market for is a laptop.

Tough day for me, even tougher day for some good friends.

Is this a dedicated Genshin Impact machine? I like these sorts of things normally, but not sure here.
Googlebook is officially here! I’ve been so excited to share the details with the world. Today, many of us rely heavily on laptops to get work done, but we think there is an opportunity to rethink the category to address the needs of people today. So we brought the best of ChromeOS and Android to create a new platform for laptops. Our initial focus with Googlebook is to deliver an amazing laptop that feels awesome for Android phone users. Here’s what to know about Googlebook 🧵👇

I find it interesting that they chose a name that even Google search can’t find.
