Tesla showed a prototype of its next-gen Roadster that launched off a ramp, cleared five cars, and landed softly using self-refilling cold-gas thrusters. Tesla says it jumped 27 feet and did a 0-60 in 0.81 seconds, but production isn't expected until 2028.

RoboBusiness 2026 is next week, and OLogic CEO and Co-Founder Ted Larson will be on stage in Santa Clara!
The biggest constraint in robotics today isn’t hardware. It’s data. In his session, “Egocentric Robot Learning: Teaching Robots Through Human Experience,” Ted will break down how first-person human demonstrations are giving robots the real-world skill data they need, and what that shift means for teams building commercial robots.
Join us Wednesday, October 21 at 10:45 AM in Room 203.

Finding a signal integrity problem after fabrication is an expensive way to learn. 📡
OLogic's mixed signal simulation catches SI, PI and EMI issues before your board ever goes to fab. Using Cadence Sigrity and Clarity 3D tools, our team brings Altium designs into simulation to verify compliance for DDR, MIPI, HDMI, USB 3.1, PCIe and more, plus full PDN, IR drop and power ripple analysis.
The result: fewer hardware revisions, faster timelines, and more confidence heading into manufacturing.

Meet Brandon Blodget, OLogic's CTO. 🤖
Brandon started programming at age 8 on an Apple II with his dad, spent years at Xilinx pioneering FPGA reconfiguration, and built a RoboMagellan robot that became the first to touch the finishing cone in competition. He met Ted and Bob at the HomeBrew Robotics Club, and eventually joined OLogic after Ted's famously honest pitch: "come make no money with me."
Since then, he's helped bring mobile robots for Savioke, Bear Robotics and Dusty Robotics to life. Off the clock, you'll find him trail running through the Santa Cruz mountains.

Amazon plans to invest more than $100 million in a new 585,000-square-foot advanced manufacturing facility in Greenwood, Indiana, creating 300 skilled manufacturing and engineering jobs.
The facility will integrate advanced fabrication, robotic welding, automated powder coating, and assembly capabilities under one roof, supported by AWS and AI-powered smart manufacturing systems, and will produce components for Amazon's fulfillment and robotics network across North America. Amazon has already manufactured more than one million robots in the U.S., now deployed across more than 300 facilities globally and assisting with 75% of the company's worldwide customer orders. The Greenwood site follows an August announcement of a similar robotics manufacturing investment in Texas and is expected to launch by 2028.

Atlas Building Composites, an MIT spinout, has developed an AI-powered robotic manufacturing platform that turns single-use plastic waste into durable building materials using a waterless recycling process.
The system shreds plastic like water bottles, melts and fuses it with fiberglass to make it stronger than wood, then uses a large-scale 3D printer to produce trusses for floors, walls, roofs, and bridges. MIT research has shown these trusses can print in under 13 minutes and support over 4,000 pounds, exceeding key building standards, and Atlas recently supplied the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers with recycled composite trusses for a 40-foot bridge in a Massachusetts wetland. The company aims to deploy localized "Atlas Factory Stack" production cells globally, each capable of producing structural components for about one small home per day.

As the weather cools down, we're looking back at one of our favorite team days this summer. The OLogic team spent an afternoon outside with bocce ball, lawn games, and a spread of great food, a good reminder that the same collaboration that makes our engineering teams work well together started with just having fun.
Fall is picking up with new projects underway, but we're already looking forward to the next team outing.

Robotics companies raised $4.87 billion in disclosed funding across 162 transactions in August 2026, according to The Robot Report's monthly tracker.
China accounted for roughly half of all disclosed capital at $2.44 billion, with U.S. companies raising another $1.27 billion. The month's five largest deals alone totaled more than $3.3 billion, led by Unitree Robotics' $905 million IPO and XPENG Robotics' $900 million Series A, both China-based. Humanoid robotics companies attracted about $943.8 million, or 19.4% of the month's total disclosed funding, driven largely by XPENG's round.
