Please read this. It's literally been 8 years in the writing.
The first wave of tech disruption of democracy 2016-2024 is over. What starts now is something much, much worse: the age of information chaos.

The end of a very fulfilling secondment at this place. Learnt so so much. Was helped by lots of lovely colleagues, who also gifted me this tie 👔 Bye for now Canberra.
New story. Meta says an Advance Australia campaign to flood social media feeds with old news doesn't break the rules.

THE FOREVER WAR: Never before have I had such positive reaction to any story. Clearly the Aus public wants real information not propaganda. In this 4 Corners we talk to people at heart of Israel’s intel/defence establishment. What they say may surprise u abc.net.au/news/2024-03-11/t…

I've written a story about Lauren Seumanutafa's search for a bone marrow donor for her 4 year old son Kruz.
Kruz has leukaemia has been unable to find a suitable match for a transplant he's going to need.
But they say they're running out of money to keep running it and need an urgent injection of funding.
More on that in the story at the link below...
Anyway I think I'm probably going to sign up to the donor registry after writing and researching this story.
The chances of you getting called up to actually give bone marrow or stem cells is quite small, but you might be the perfect match for someone who really needs your marrow/stem cells.

"I love this drive. I hate this drive."
Re-visiting this piece by @SophieTrevitt today. As well as all the other things Sophie was, she was a bloody good writer. My thoughts are with her family and loved ones today.

I have never felt fear the way I do for the children locked up in #AliceSprings.
Me in @guardian on the hellish conditions these Aboriginal kids are kept in, the negligence of the NT govt & the fight to keep these kids safe #ntpol #auslaw #4Corners
