AI has changed the world, and FPL is no different. I used to love playing FPL! I'd scout players, research coaches, dig into everything about the Premier League. I have an obsessive personality, and this was my outlet for it. I still love that stuff. Then I found FPL Review and Solio. They always push the same players, and the template forms around them because the algorithms find the best value + xMins combinations. Back when I relied on my own research, I had an edge on all my friends. I won my mini-leagues without contest. It was free money. Now there's a guy in my mini-league who's won twice in a row, and it kills me because I know I have more football knowledge than him. I'm the better player. But he just plays template! He watches a content creator, copies the team, takes zero risk, and he's beating me anyway. Any idiot can copy a content creator's team now, and that's gutted the value of everything I know. People are going to start using Claude and ChatGPT to manipulate FPL Review data too. That's the next wave. I need to accept that the game I (used to) love has changed. Take me back to the old days, man. Ohhhh, also, I love how the FPL content creator scene has changed. I used to love certain creators because they were always different, and now they're super template. Like what happened to you, bro? It's probably AI. The landscape changed and they have to adjust with it. I understand it too. I do it too. But there are analytical picks that are going to be differentials, and I need to find who those players are and flex it. I literally found Szoboszlai before any content creator. Then the CCs socialized it and everyone got him 🤣 FML, even this year, his EO is still crazy high, but hopefully Review and Solio don't like him. I knew Bruno Fernandes was going to have a good season last year too. I literally made a preseason post before FPL Review found him and every CC pushed him. The only edge I think I have right now is that I think Palmer is going to be a better pick than Bruno this year. Simple. I can't start with Palmer either because I need to get the bench boost out of the way, so I spread my money across my 15 players. Since I'm not captaining him for the first 3 weeks, it's hard to own a 9.5m player and 2 other premiums I need for captaincy. I gotta find a way to buy him later. I also haven't been brainwashed by any AI or model yet, so I'm just posting my thoughts here before my thoughts are influenced. I need my pure reflection and thoughts to guide me, and then I wanna see what the model thinks. I also need to decide how much EO is going to dictate my decisions. I honestly need to deeply sit and think about this, because I haven't played well because I try to be different, but if I was completely template I could win my ML every season, but I also can’t have fun being completely template either….its a game after all I don't know man, AI probably knows best, but I still gotta leverage it to play my own game. I still gotta be me, but I gotta be a better version of me, because my ML rivals are all plugged into content creators now.
