Nigeria confirmed an Ebola Bundibugyo case in Abuja today, after a woman who arrived from Uganda tested positive for the virus. Contact tracing and surveillance have begun.
Early signs are non-specific and mimic illnesses like malaria or typhoid, therefore, diagnosis requires specialized laboratory testing.
Early symptoms include fever, severe headache, extreme tiredness, fatigue, and weakness, muscle aches, joint pain, sore throat.

I don't usually read the magazines on airplanes, but today I did and saw Air Peace saying the airline's aircraft have been struck by ground handling equipment over 15 times.
The latest was in July 2026, a baggage-conveyor vehicle struck the engine of an Air Peace Airbus A320 at the Lagos airport.

From the accident, she has fractures in her hand, leg, and pelvic region. The doctor said the surgery will cost about ₦5 million. It is extensive and will be done in two phases.
First they will operate on her hand and leg. When she recovers from that, they will do the pelvic region.
It has been a painful experience. We have already spent so much on drugs and medications just to keep her stable this far. The pain is still there every day.
A lot of you have followed this from the day of the accident. You have seen the updates. You know what this has been like.

This is the reason Dr Bosun Tijani blocked me.
I quoted his NUCAP post with my experience as a project coordinator on similar MTN/Huawei rural sites in the past, and asked what would be different this time. He blocked me instead of replying.
If a sitting minister under President Tinubu can’t take constructive criticism from a young Nigerian, tell me if this country is getting better anytime soon.
This is not a new project. As far back as 2015, MTN and Huawei already had something similar called MTN Rural Telephony, and that was before bandits became this widespread.
I was a project coordinator on some of those sites. The biggest setback was always security in these remote areas. Almost all the backup batteries were stolen. Technicians were often 12–24 hours away, and many sites weren’t accessible by road.
Some towers stayed down for days or even months because of community issues. There were cases where security guards were killed when robbers came for the equipment.
These projects are extremely expensive to maintain. That’s why I’m not sure why the government is taking on the role of running them directly. Private operators already struggled with exactly these problems.

Honestly, this cancer journey has been exhausting. Watching Lauretta go through all of this has been so hard, and I wish I could make things easier for her.
I just want my sister to get better and have her life back.
Some battles can’t be fought alone.
Lauretta is fighting Hodgkin’s lymphoma with everything she has. We’re asking you to stand beside her as she continues her treatment.
