This article is a great example on how the @nytimes coverage of Indigenous issues doesn’t meet the basic standards of journalism. This article grossly misrepresents what happened in the underlying custody cases and the people behind the lawsuit.
In a case that could affect thousands of Native American children, the Supreme Court will begin hearing arguments Wednesday in the case of a four-year-old girl, whose birth mother is Navajo but who is living with a white family who wants to adopt her. nyti.ms/3WKaB3B

The committee's chair, Sec. Ryan Walters, hasn't been to a single meeting this year, even as they discussed performance levels for US history, a topic Walters has hit hard on the campaign trail to become state superintendent. Full story by @paytonnmay -->okcfox.com/news/local/sec-ry…

Once again, this candidate is saying dangerous things. Either he doesn't know how much school districts rely on federal funds, or he doesn't care. At this point, I think either is possible. #oklaed 1/7
If Walters wins, special education and child nutrition are done, I guess. Vote wisely, #oklaed
In 2014, Oklahoma voters corrected the mistake we made in 2010. In 2022, let’s not make the mistake in the first place. Elect @GraceForOK instead. She believes in teachers. She’s spent 30+ years as a teacher and leader in our schools. #oklaed okeducationtruths.wordpress.…
Why are you interested in this position?
That is a question I have asked dozens of times during job interviews. #oklaed okeducationtruths.wordpress.…
Most people who have ever worked in a public school have known students who think of the library as their safe place. When books are under attack, when the professionals who foster the love of reading are under attack, so is that safe place. #oklaed okeducationtruths.wordpress.…
If Walters ever truly had the necessary empathy to be a great teacher, I don’t see it now – not during this campaign. Maybe the guy from the classroom was a character he was playing. Or perhaps this candidate version of him is just an act. #oklaed okeducationtruths.wordpress.…
Dr. April Grace has the experience to manage the finances of Oklahoma’s educational system. Clearly, her opponent does not. #oklaed @GraceForOK okeducationtruths.wordpress.…

Dr. Grace closed by challenging Walters to make even one positive statement about something specific happening in a public school somewhere in Oklahoma. She gave several examples. He whiffed. #oklaed okeducationtruths.wordpress.…

Having a presence with people is important. Answering questions matters. Having real Oklahomans support your campaign…well, you get it. You either want to support our public schools and can articulate how you want to do that, or you don’t. #oklaed okeducationtruths.wordpress.…
