America is the new Europe. 10 years from now, China will be laughing at us for not having AI the same way we’re laughing at Europoors for not having AC.
I think it’s kinda neat that it only took like 3 years to go from Will Smith eats spaghetti to building The Machine from Person of Interest for real. Now let’s burn it to the ground.
Did you sleep well last night?
Oh good.

CMPD should just req a few surplus F35s and start terminating street takeovers from 50,000 ft up.
I’m begging someone to please explain why the BC tunnels use teslas with drivers instead of literally any other better way to move people. Automated rail, light rail, anything. The mine carts from Donkey Kong would make more sense.
BORING NEWS: The Boring Company has proposed a 40-year, $34 million deal with the Metro Nashville Airport Authority to build the Music City Loop station at Nashville International Airport.
The deal includes an annual $300,000 licensing fee to the authority (rising 3% yearly for inflation), plus $5 per drop-off or pick-up once operational, and reimbursement of $600,000 in prior costs.
The authority's Finance Committee approved the terms today, with a full board vote set for February 18th.

Some of those “real world needs” being that the cars need to start and drive consistently and also not burn the house down while charging.
NEWS: Stellantis stock is down 23% today after the company announced it's taking a $26.5 billion hit and writing down their electric vehicle business.
Stellantis CEO: "The write-downs reflect the cost of overestimating the pace of the energy transition that distanced us from many car buyers’ real-world needs, means and desires.”

The city of Charlotte is committing $100,000 "in support of rent and utility bills for households adversely impacted by ongoing economic disruption across the community."
The news release doesn't explicitly say it, but the funds appear to be meant for families impacted by the CBP operation.
The city says Crisis Assistance Ministry will serve as the administrative partner for the program, handling applications for funding and disbursements to households. Funds will support households identified by key non-profit organizations working directly in the community, including the Charlotte Center for Legal Advocacy, OurBRIDGE for Kids, Latin American Coalition and Carolina Migrant Network.
Funding will be available on a non-exclusive basis, regardless of race, gender, or national origin. To be eligible, applicants must have proof of household income, a social security number and photo ID. Interested individuals should reach out to the community organizations. The program will be initiated on Monday, November 24
Come on @Hyundai you cowards, build this thing. I will absolutely buy one (used and heavily depreciated).
At this point I’ve listened to enough Caleb Hammer to know this book is very well-written bullshit.

Urbanists think they can force taxpayers into little boxes next door to criminals but the reality is we’ll go to the next city over and take our tax base with us.
I’ll be taking this just so I can avoid writing a $10k check to some PE rollup HVAC company every time the AC goes out.

Fun fact: if you switch to commuting by bicycle, you probably won’t need that retirement fund. 🚲💥🚗
Replacing a car with an e-bike can save a household $120,000 over a decade—enough to wipe out debt, fund a college account, or boost retirement savings.
You can hardly build a mid-range motorcycle for $10k anymore. Just the safety and emissions equipment for a modern car costs more than $10k, a Ford Maverick is the modern version of a basic car and it’s nearly $30k.
Someone in America needs to make a retro style budget friendly $10k car.

While all of Toyota is busy putting boring 4 and 6 cylinder hybrids in everything cool they used to make, somewhere in Lexus there’s a team of rogue engineers building a fire breathing v8 dragon? Cool.
