Be in your bag, but be in your Bible too. Success is nothing without God!

This drawing is called “No is a complete sentence” and visually represents the act of refusal without over explaining. The empty space on the left represents the explanation that isn’t coming. It’s just no. #nope #noisacompletesentence

3. I don't need to over-explain: I remember the first time I declined doing something without a long winded excuse. It felt so vulnerable and off to me. Why? I believed there had to be a reason for me to not do something. This is how codependency shows up.
This animated drawing is titled “There will always be one more thing”. In other words, we have to learn to say no or we will never rest!

This would mean: I had to set boundaries, I had to say "no," and I had to start actually putting my needs first.
This thread explains so many of my motivations for creating “There is space for you here”! This drawing is called “No is a complete sentence.”
Why I stopped being nice, so that I could be kind:
Thanks @aliciakeys for spending 639 minutes with me in 2022. I couldn’t stop listening to Gramercy Park. #SpotifyWrapped open.spotify.com/artist/3DiD…
i hope you see that you matter. i hope you can see that you are needed, and necessary. i hope you can see that your existence makes the world a better place.

Learning how to talk about yourself is a difficult skill! I’m rewriting my bio and it’s been so long since I’ve had to explain what I do to someone who doesn’t know me.
Today we celebrate the 43rd birthday of Marielle Franco, a queer Afro-Brazilian sociologist, politician, and activist. We honor her legacy by understanding policing for the global white supremacist project it is, and continuing the fight for our liberation! #MariellePresente

It may take a while but you can do it on your own terms. I promise.
Back in the day there weren’t many Black voices in the online creative space. I just wanted to make sure we weren’t the only or last ones. I’m truly happy for everyone who have found their lane in the years that followed.
The Internet changed my life. I always believed this idea of “The Middle Class Creative” would unfold. Where creatives could make a living off of their art even if they didn’t a prestigious art school or come from a family of artist.
