Folks get defensive re: this, but the truth is that if immigrant names were changed, it happened long before ever stepping onto Ellis Island. Errors made at departure, sure. Americanizing after arrival? Absolutely. But 34 seconds per person was not enough time to change anything.

If these folks knew that most supermarket cheese is naturally halal (because commercial cheese isn't made with rennet these days, only the super expensive cheese is), would they just stop eating cheese altogether? Hate makes you do weird things, I guess.

Between The Boys and The Amazing Digital Circus, this is a tough week for folks who don't understand the media they're watching.

I actually don't think there's anything wrong with taking GLP-1s to lose weight. I do think it's *interesting* how so many body-positive influencers, who previously said looks didn't matter & different sizes should be celebrated, started taking GLP-1s the very second they could.

The point of the Red vs Blue Button thought experiment is to demonstrate: 1) game theory is largely incompatible with ethics; 2) the value of voluntary standards. Of course Internet folks would rather miss that and divide each other into factions they can demonize for engagement.

I really hope folks are as mad at real GOP representatives as they are at this satirical account.
