I can never do what Moose does. He’s a modern-day, daily show, for politics. His following & viewership numbers for politics is among the top in the country. Few understand how hard it is to do what he does. A talented one-man army.
It's interesting how Mark Carney is spending money on housing for people in the Dominican Republic... he thinks so little of Canadians.

I appreciate this. Where I've come down, for now, is that perhaps most important is how we respond to red flags, concerns, and allegations. Because it's absolutely true that we will never have full knowledge and some people are excellent manipulators. So are we equipped to a) both recognize and discern between genuine red flag behaviors and credible allegations, vs a qualified but imperfect human or vindictive accuser and, b) willing to see and speak clearly if that threshold is met? Which, in turn, *helps* to equip us to discern who should have support at the outset as well.

I don’t know what’s ahead regarding the allegations that led to the arrests of Seth & Heather Day. They have the right in this country to be heard by a jury and tried in court. But I know this: There’s one fiercely brave girl who defied the odds, broke the family code, marched her bruised body forward and TOLD. God bless that child, heal that child, restore that child and raise that child into one astonishingly mighty woman of faith.

ABOUT LAST WEEK... We joined the kickoff for @CanadianR2R where Chief @Marc_Roskamp spoke on behalf of the @OACPOfficial. Cyclists from police services across Canada rode more than 700 kilometres to Ottawa to honour fallen officers and raise funds for the @CPPOM On Saturday, we joined the St. Thomas Islamic Center for 'Out of Many, We Are One' a gathering focused on strengthening relationships and building a more welcoming, peaceful and compassionate community. We also joined the Sikh Community of St. Thomas for its Free Pizza Drive, which welcomed everyone in the spirit of service and sharing. We supported the Railway City Road Races, with proceeds going to @bbbs_elgin And on Sunday, members of our Service attended the 49th @CPPOM in Ottawa to honour those who made the ultimate sacrifice. A week of remembrance, connection and community. Thank you to everyone who brought people together and welcomed us in.

In a recent report, researchers looked at the connection between human trafficking and missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls. One of the most disturbing findings it uncovered is that sex buyers on messaging boards in Canada are advising others to specifically find Indigenous women and avoid white women. Why? The Globe's @temurdur explains the troubling logic. 🔗 Read the full story: theglobeandmail.com/canada/a… Video by Temur Durrani, Bianca Bharti and Kelsey Wilson. #MMIWG

I’m disgusted by the shooting that took place outside the Sons of Jacob Synagogue in Belleville earlier this evening as Jewish community members gathered to mark Yom Kippur. My thoughts are with the Jewish community in Belleville and across Ontario, who have every right to gather and worship safely and without fear. I expect that all those responsible are arrested and prosecuted to the full extent of the law. My thoughts are also with the police officer who was shot, along with their family and loved ones. We owe an immense debt of gratitude to this brave officer and to all the first responders who acted so quickly to keep the community safe.

It is repellent to think that one of Canada's most notorious killers could ever be released on parole.  Paul Bernardo was jailed indefinitely, with the judge noting, 'You are a sexually sadistic psychopath. The likelihood of you being treated is remote in the extreme.' The TPA stands with the families of Kristen French and Leslie Mahaffy, who are consistently revictimized by this absurd notion of possible freedom for a court-designated Dangerous Offender. We're looking to Secretary of State @rubysahotalib and the governing Liberals to implement necessary and long-overdue changes to Canada's parole system. Protecting victims and law-abiding citizens should always remain the priority. It is paramount that Paul Bernardo and others like him never be allowed to walk free.

Four years ago, Constable Andrew Hong - a 22-year veteran with the Toronto Police Service - was tragically killed while on his lunch break, in a senseless attack that also took the life of two civilians. A hero in life, not death, we remember Constable Hong as a man of honour, integrity, and bravery, and continue to serve with pride in his memory.
Remembering Police Constable Andrew Hong, who lost his life in the line of duty on September 12, 2022. tps.ca/honour-wall/line-duty… #EndOfWatch #HeroesInLife

I was sitting in my Chief Supt office in East Region HQ when I was advised that planes had hit the World Trade Center. We started calling in additional members. East Region has a number of border crossings into New York State and surrounds the National Capital Region. All government buildings in Ottawa were ordered closed and Ottawa Police asked for help to manage the traffic leaving the city and to help secure potential targets. We dispatched officers to support Canada Customs at each border crossing as CBSA officers were unarmed at that time. Many international flights were re-routed to various Canadian airports including Ottawa. We had to send resources to help secure planes and passengers and to search for explosives l, suspects and/or weapons. The days to follow were tense for all, but our officers rose to the occasion as they always do, supported by our Com Centres and civilian personnel. In addition to guarding bordering points for the possibility of terrorists running north and all the Ottawa issues, they responded to bizarre calls of suspicious devices or substances. The public was scared so the number of calls we received was unreal. Of course the families of our personnel were at home watching the media coverage of the frightening uncertainty, not knowing where their loved ones among our uniformed staff were or if they were in danger. We tried our best to communicate to them that everyone was okay. It was a frightening and demanding time in the Region, but I couldn’t have been prouder of the commitment of our people as they responded to the threats with courage and resolve until we were confident that there was no further threat. Hard to believe that was 25 years ago!

With news breaking again, almost ten years to the day that the Nassar case broke, of another MSU physician charged with sexual assault, this is a chance for MSU to set a new standard for how the University leadership will respond- especially the trustees. cbsnews.com/detroit/news/mic…
