Thanks @NCDCgov & 🇳🇬's #AMRsurveillance system, without which we'd not've seen this, @GHRUamr consortium & @NIHRglobal for enabling 🇳🇬 to institute genomic surveillance of AMR. Read our #OpenAccess MGen @MicrobioSoc paper & let's know what you think doi.org/10.1099/mgen.0.00150… END

I was at the 567th Inaugural Lecture of UI by Prof @iruka_okeke. It wasn't' another theoretical trip into the microbial world, but one guided by experience, excellent research outputs, charting a future in AMR research & celebration of academic excellence.
We are proud of you ma

Very thankful that #UNGA24 approved the declaration on #AMR. As I discussed with @IkabaKoyi on @BBC #FocusonAfrica last week, the declaration, and action on #AntimicrobialResistance is fundamental to ensuring the health of Africans
Glad to see our genomic data analysis of Listeria monocytogenes from a 2 decade surveillance now in print @GenomeMedicine. We describe the population structure and transmission clusters, including cryptic outbreak clusters that traverse NY counties. [1/2]
Ikhimiukor and coll reconstruct the population genomic structure from 936 Listeria monocytogenes isolates throughout a two decade surveillance program in NY, identifying long-term persisting clones driving the local infection dynamics

Thrilled to share our new paper on Listeria monocytogenes in New York in collaboration with NY Dept Health! Most from blood, CSF. We found diverse lineages, intrinsic & mobile AMR & virulence genes, persistence across geographical & temporal scales @odionikh

Very happy to see this work in print @NatureComms. We used a combination of classical microbiology, whole genome sequencing and bioinformatics tools to describe epidemiology of invasive Klebsiella pneumoniae archived as part of routine surveillance form a medical centre. 1/2.

Our results emphasize on clonal and horizontal transmission of ESBL plasmids in bloodstream (and urine). Our findings are open access (nature.com/articles/s41467-0…), so do give it a read to know more. 2/2
