Apropos of nothing, of course, but: In 2025, Amazon MGM Studios paid over $1 billion in a new joint venture deal that saw Broccoli & Wilson step back from active Bond oversight. [Bezos] Amazon now *has* full creative control over the future of the James Bond franchise. So.
Jack Lowden, Callum Turner and Josh O’Connor are among the actors in the mix to be the next James Bond. They are currently doing final auditions. (Source: Deadline)

When the Proteas Men's Cricket team is good, they're great. Exceptional all-round performance to get this clinical result. Well-deserved.
🚨 MATCH RESULT 🚨 What a phenomenal game, what an incredible display from #TheProteas! An absolutely heart-stopping performance! 🤩 Bavuma led the way with the bat, and our bowlers ran riot with the ball! 💪🔥 #TheProteas level the series 1-1 with a comprehensive victory by an innings and 31 runs! 🇿🇦 #Unbreakable #SAvAUS

Earlier, I got asked why I'm walking with a wobbled knee this morning? For about 2.3 seconds, I considered alluding to some kind of sexual injury? But, then I just told the truth. Sometimes, I sleep like an idiotic adult; often spraining my neck, or, ankle, etc. A human panda.

Already more folks in Gqeberha watching the men's test cricket match than in Durban. Bananas. This is why I like that city.

Yes.
I don’t want books written by AI, I want books written by alcoholic Russian novelists on the brink of a mental collapse from depression, that’s how God wanted it.

Replying to @Azania_
@azania_ takes us home to Soweto. "Let's go shoot at my cousin's house in Orlando West..." and there we were, received with love and warmth by her family. Her timeless beauty and sharp wit stand out. This is a woman who helped change the face of South African broadcasting, she reminds us that there is always more to become. From making radio history to knowing when to walk away, start again and build something of her own, Azania is proof that growth has no expiry date. And trust us, between the laughs, the memories and the wisdom, this is the kind of conversation you wish you could pull up a chair for. Read her story on nounouche.online now.

For tomorrow's Men's Cricket Test: I want to say, yes, we've got Rabada back, and yes he's a big deal, and yes, he gets paid well. But: NO. Cricket is a *team* sport. Bavuma. Markram. Rabada. They can *inspire* a match win. But, it is always a team (coaching incl.) effort.

I have zero doubt that this has found its way to South Africa, too.
“People are being microtargeted.” A new ‘zero-click’ hack, used by an Israeli spyware firm, uses ads to target users without any action needed, with journalists at Al Jazeera among the victims. Analysts say the findings are “incredibly concerning” aje.news/lgplg7

For the remainder of this Trump administration, I don't want to read about South African media giving any meaningful attention to the US ambassador here.

In the world's economically most unequal country, you wouldn't think that this iPhone would sell. But, it will in South Africa. Why? Part of the reason has to do with classism. It is important to a lot of folks to show their peers what lifestyle they have. 🤷🏽‍♂️ Sad, really.
The R77 000 iPhone has arrived in South Africa techcentral.co.za/iphone-duo…

This is lovely. I've always had the biggest of crushes on Azania, yoh. I'm glad she's getting her flowers.
AZANIA MOSAKA: THE VOICE THAT SHAPED AN ERA. From growing up in Pimville to making broadcasting history as the first woman to host a commercial radio breakfast show in South Africa, Azania Mosaka built a two-decade career on depth, poise, and composure. But at the peak of her radio dominance, she made the ultimate act of bravery: she put down the microphone and walked away to grow. What followed was an expansion, from working at the United Nations in Geneva to returning to Wits for her Honours degree, with her sights now firmly set on a PhD. For our latest cover issue, we took things back home to Soweto: shooting across Pimville, local salons, and neighboring schools. We sat Azania down with fellow icon Penny Lebyane for an unedited, deeply moving masterclass in Black sisterhood, integrity, and reclaiming one's narrative.
