Hugh Jackman owes it all to Stanley Kubrick… after Kubrick died.
A wild Hollywood domino effect yanked a relatively unknown Jackman from Australian theatre and TV to become Wolverine, the role that defined him for 24 years across 9 films.

The Morning Bath with Miss Sybil Seely in Buster Keaton's "One Week" (1920) includes an early breaking of the fourth wall... As she reaches out to grab her soap which would have exposed her to the camera—the cameraman places his hand directly over the lens. Once she is safely back in the tub, the hand moves away, and she smiles and thanks him.

On September 30, 1961, John Lennon and Paul McCartney left Liverpool for Spain, using the birthday money John had received from a relative; they hitchhiked, wearing bowler hats as a visual cue to get cars to stop.
Upon arriving in Paris, their plans changed: tired from the trip and enchanted by the city, they decided to stay instead of continuing on to Spain. They walked around Montmartre, frequented cafés, and ran into their German friend Jürgen Vollmer, whom they had known from their time in Hamburg; they liked his slicked-back hairstyle so much that they asked him to cut their hair the same way.
Thus was born the distinctive “mop-top,” the hairstyle that would later become globally associated with the Beatles. John also turned 21 during that same stay in Paris, on October 9, 1961, while still with Paul.

Good afternoon, hope all is well, this is a magic moment from the great Trigger in Only Fools & Horses (1996)
A busy high street in 1960s London. Classic red Routemasters, an orderly queue at the bus stop with a policeman keeping a watchful eye, lovely old cars driving by, and people going about their day. A wonderful film of England in the 1960s.

I'm not sure Hollywood has ever put two people with more style and charm in the same scene.
Check out this clip of Cary Grant and Eva Marie Saint in Alfred Hitchcock's North by Northwest (1959).
Who steals the scene?
