I'm very confused as to what position this man occupies in terms of Irish Govt. He wasn't elected. The taskforce he served on (with zero dissenting voices) was hand-picked with no open appointment process. Where's his mandate to speak for the State? irishtimes.com/business/2026…

If your political ideology leaves you in a position where you have to defend a young mother being shot in the face along with the right of a billionaire to monetise creation of child sexual abuse material - it’s never too late to reflect on how you ended up there.

Remarkable story at the Dublin Marathon where 19-year-old Ava Crean from Limerick takes the women's national title in 2:34:12, a 9-minute PB - 6th overall. Crean had never run competitively before signing up for the Manchester Marathon in April - listing her target time as 3:30.

1) This is based on conflating Israel with Jewish people. 2) The anti-Palestinian racism in all of this is utterly shameless. Yesterday, Israel killed dozens of Palestinians, as it does every day. They never talk about respecting the grief of British Palestinians.
I urge anyone thinking about protesting this weekend to recognise and respect the grief of British Jews. This is a moment of mourning. It is not a time to stoke tension and cause further pain. It is a time to stand together. We are a country that welcomes all people, no matter their faith, to stand under the same flag as neighbours and friends. That is who we are and who we will always be. Hatred and violence will never win.

Lots of Undecideds to be won over but great momentum for Connolly and no sign that negative campaigning is benefiting those targeting her. Gavin seems to be going the way of Gay Mitchell in 2011. #Áras25

Chief Executive of Land Development Agency believes there should be a "social stigma" for people who object to housing and other development. What about a "corporate stigma" for public bodies who waste taxpayer money running to the courts to block transparency?

Literally the only time he mentions Israel - the actual perpetrator of these crimes - is to state that Israel has agreed to air drops. These air drops are a tiny pin prick, inefficient, and literally kill Palestinians when falling on them. Completely and utterly deranged
The appalling scenes in Gaza are unrelenting. The UK will pull every lever we have to get food and lifesaving support to Palestinians, and we will evacuate children who need urgent medical assistance. This humanitarian catastrophe must end.

'A Textbook Case of Genocide'. This was an article written by Raz Segal, the towering Israeli-American associate professor of genocide and Holocaust studies. Guess when it was written? October 13, 2023. This crime was obvious from the very start. jewishcurrents.org/a-textboo…

Al Jazeera Media Network urgently calls upon the journalistic community, press freedom organisations, and relevant legal bodies to take decisive action to halt the forced starvation and crimes against journalists and media professionals in Gaza. The journalists on the ground, who have courageously reported on this ongoing genocide, have risked their lives and the safety of their families to shed light on these atrocities. However, they now find themselves fighting for their own survival. network.aljazeera.net/en/pre…

I have never felt so shaken. Children are dying of hunger. Falling one after another, like petals of a dying flower. Under our watch. How do you sleep, Presidents, Foreign Ministers, political leaders, diplomats, civil servants - doing nothing to stop Israel’s starvation campaign? PS: Talking politics while dodging genocide perfectly meets the definition of doing nothing.
The sheer intellectual collapse you have to experience to be faced with 122 international aid organisations telling you the same thing... ISRAEL IS STARVING GAZANS... only to decide they are ALL lying & that actually Benjamin Netanyahu, on trial for fraud, is telling the truth.
