I have tried so many times to encourage Igbo speakers that I know to translate academic science concepts to Igbo language. I told them to create books and YouTube videos on the topics. I even show them how the facebook page called @Sci_in_Yoruba has almost 1 million followersn on facebook. Trying to encourage them. But they always look at me like I am crazy. Or maybe they are waiting for me to pay them to do it (which I don't, because I'm too poor). One of them even said to me "why would native Igbo speakers need these concepts explained in Igbo? Considering that they also think and most likely use them in English?" She went on to ask me "how can we get rich Igbo people to sponsor these projects?" Because I do not like to argue, I just left her and moved on. See, you people will continue waiting for someone to pay you to do this work, and you and your offspring will continue to suffer the consequences. When @Ocha_TK and I started building Mmuta Di Uto we didn't have any sponsors. We still barely have any sponsors. But we now have over 60,000 subscribers on YouTube and a small, but steady stream of income and people who recognize Maazi Agu all over the world. I am giving away a free idea to people that EVERYONE would benefit from it. And people are still asking me where is the money. It's not until I do it myself that you all will come from the bushes to steal my ideas and my content or tell me that I did not pronounce this one correctly or Igbo people don't say it like that. Then you will know you can do it yourself. In fact, I'm tired of talking. I know it's hard work. I know it is not an easy thing to build. I know it costs money. But it's also worth it. I just know it is important to do, because if we don't do it then learning Igbo will be a fools errand and Igbo language will surely become obsolete because there will be no benefit to knowing the Igbo language. youtube.com/playlist?list=PL…
