No more twitter for me! It may or may not be due to @elonmusk 's acquisition ;) I don't care about blue checkmarks but I do care about the negative impact Musk's companies have on good scientific discourse. It's been a gripe of mine for years!
If you’re in a position of power, stop saying “that’s just how things are” and start asking “how do we actually want things to be?” Then, work to make that happen.

Strange that so many papers on applied machine learning (psychiatry, I’m looking at you) do not motivate their choice of machine learning models. Data collection, pre-processing, and training is *expensive*. Why did you choose to use it in this way? I need to know!!

Super impressed by @TOPublicHealth’s vaccination clinics. People are quick to criticize the system, but we need to consider the sheer scale and short timeframe that all this has to be put together. Great volunteers and fantastic nurses. Proud to be a Torontonian!

The kitty who was there when I most needed silent comfort. I miss you so much ❤️

All of these scrapped ..... for Pygame right now. Let’s see how long I can focus on this side project before I inevitably drop it 🤔

Sewing, unity 3D x blender, custom PCB for a keeb, drawing a webcomic, self publishing poetry / children’s book.... not now but when??
Simultaneously so excited that I’ve worked my way up to doing so many of the things I’ve always dreamed of doing.... and being antsy and wondering where I can fit in my 10000 other hobbies and artistic ideas that are just waiting to be expressed 😩

Mentoring is not: let me tell you what I did so that you can replicate my exact path Mentoring is: let me ask questions and empower you so that you can carve your own path

That’s 3.5 terms of delivering online classes & assessments. What a journey it’s been.
One year ago today, #UofTEngineering classes went remote in response to the #COVID19 pandemic. As we prepare for a safe return to campus this Fall, let's take a look back at some of the key moments & incredible achievements that our community has made over the past 12 months 💙

Zoom call highlights: here is my cat now can I see your dog?

Teaching pre covid: in order to foster a positive learning environment, please make sure to not talk while class is going on! 🤓 Teaching now: please, is someone, anyone willing to unmute...? No...? Well maybe you can type in the chat.... can you guys even hear me? 😭

It's so strange that a healthcare institution is being so negligent about the current global health situation.

@CAMHResearch does it make sense that in-person health screening is mandatory for new trainees *that do not even have clearance to work onsite* during the COVID-19 pandemic? cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/1… this is not helping to decrease the spread.

TB testing and MMR immunity via bloodwork would take me *at least* two trips on transit to CAMH. I have family members working and attending in-person schools. I don't have a stagnant bubble.
Cons: - COVID-19 cases pass 300 for ? day in a row - fires in Cali - winter weather causing skin on hands to spontaneously lyse Pros: - I can wear black again
Success may be defined by the moments when everything is going right, but much of it is determined by what we do in the moments when everything is going wrong.

Your work is important and it’s great to want to be outstanding at the work you do. But, the numbers on your CV are not a good place to look to in defining your self-worth.
