An excellent summary of the evidence I gave today at the Royal Commission by Henry EA at the Law Society Journal.

Nice graphic of part of our data. There's a number of other really interesting graphs in the testimony. It should be online in a day or two.
ANTISEMITISM ONLINE: HOW PLATFORMS RESPOND
Andre Oboler of the Online Hate Prevention Institute returned to the Royal Commission today with more evidence on how social media companies respond when antisemitic content is flagged.
The numbers are brutal.
Removal rates for flagged antisemitic content:
TikTok: 62%
468 items removed
Facebook: 54%
952 items removed
LinkedIn: 47%
724 items removed
Telegram: 42%
1,052 items removed
YouTube: 41%
620 items removed
X: 24% of 1,703 items removed
Reddit: 17%
1,021 items removed
That means X removed fewer than 1 in 4 flagged items.
Reddit removed fewer than 1 in 5.
The platforms all claim to have policies against hate. The real test is whether those policies are enforced when Jews are the target.
A pinned post by @FSUofAustralia featuring what looks like an AI generated image of me, and attacks the charity I run. This is despite the fact @OnlineHate is a charity, our only power is our speech. Is FSU trying to bully and censor us? 1/4
Putting the Online Hate Prevention Institute's name in quotes hints at illegitimacy. We are registered charity founded in 2012 that reports to the ACNC. They are a private company, created less than 3 years ago, with no oversight and no public transparency. 3/4
We have documented problematic replies aimed at myself / @OnlineHate & 17 antisemitic replies. FSU have not spoken out against them. If they believe the response to hate speech is more speech, they must speak up. Or are they just grifters seeking to grow their following? 4/4
This week's Australian Jewish News has a two page spread on the Online Hate Prevention Institute's (@onlinehate) report into the Bondi terrorist attack.

It comes a day before the 14th anniversary of @onlinehate's founding ohpi.org.au/ohpi-turns-14/
BREAKING: @onlinehate releases MAJOR REPORT into the Bondi terrorist attack.
Within minutes of the attack, online hate surged. "Bondi denial" joins Holocaust denial and October 7 denial as a form of Antisemitism in Australia.

Dear Jewish friends,
I am sorry.
I am not sorry because Jewish homes were vandalized and spray painted, antisemites will do that.
I am not sorry because protesters keep chanting support for Hamas, antisemites will do that.
I'm not sorry that they mark Jewish homes with upside down red triangles, antisemites will do that.
I'm sorry that nobody will protect you, so you have no choice but to volunteer in security groups to protect yourselves.
I am sorry that your friends believe the Islamic Republic over you, who they've known their whole lives, so you have no choice but to lean on each other.
I am sorry that threat of another Holocaust never subsides.
I am sorry that they want to destroy the only Jewish state in the world AND make it unsate to be here, so you feel like you're running out of places to run.
I am sorry that you feel you have to ask or wonder whether the people you trusted would hide you.
I'm sorry that it's been 2,000 years and the oldest and longest form of persecution is still cast in doubt.
I am sorry that you know this pain deep in your bones and every day you still have to prove to the world that it exists and it's happening.
I'm sorry that they see it and still say that can't see it.
I'm sorry that no matter how bad it gets, the world's response is forever, "but what about..."
8 months ago, I promised that people would wake up, turn around, and apologize. Most of all, I am sorry that I don't know if that's true any more.
